Time improvements...

With MAC headers, dual high flow cats and SLP LS1 exhaust, plus a MadZ28.com tune, the 97 TA went from an average time of 13.78325 last October and 13.898 this past April to a new low of 13.4025 at the track. Trap speeds FINALLY broke that elusive 100 mark to a couple of 103's and a couple high 102's.

I did manage one win yesterday; 13.456 on a 13.38 dial in against a 12.531 on a 12.53 dial in. I guess those couple cups of morning coffee paid off as my R/T was a .047 against a .161 giving me then win by a mere .0391.

But I got greedy on the light on the next round and ended up leaving a day early; .061 on the wrong side of the green. Too bad, as if I had a pause I would have raced against his .308 r/t. But that win couldn't have happened to a better guy.

It was also a blessing in disguise to leave. It was cold and I was beginning to shiver. The track was becoming a mess. And the waiting for the corvettes was definitely no fun.

Outside of that, Ryan needs to get EZ-pass. Bahahahaha

(Edited for Pampered-Z's request)

Re: Time improvements...

listen to this; ryans friend kevin was using my camcorder to record our runs. after our second run when you went to see jim, and i went to see ryan i got the camcorder back because kevin was freezing and wanted to warm his hands up. so i started taping the corvettes and some of the bikes. i didnt get the one that ran a 7.9@175 but anyway before we staged again i put the camera back and we all went for the 3rd run. i get home to review the tape and.... kevin must have rewinded the tape to show ryan his run, and i didnt know this and taped over our runs. ryans first run is still on their but you and i and everyones second run is gone. i do have some footage of the 3rd gen doing the wheel stand. 1 minute of footage total anyway. the guy did it as a favor so no big deal. next time im going to pay someone so i can be pissed later

Re: Time improvements...

Bahahahaha.... whoops!!!
No biggie. I didn't remember that I had my own digi photo camera until I was on the turnpike going home with Ryan. I have a photo of him breaking the sound barrier...

Ed was taking some pics. He might have some of us staging up.

I feel bad for Kevin, though. I wonder if he has thawed out yet? Friggin cold at the track....

Re: Time improvements...

great job Ron! I guess they didnt say anything about the loud exhaust? I'll be honest with you I am suprised. E-town tends to not like noise when it comes to the SLP LM.

But now your so close to the 12's.... just .4 away! You know that .4 is just 1 car length at the end of the track? Whats next to put it in the 12's? lol...

Re: Time improvements...

i seen on the paper it says no bullet mufflers and all mufflers need to have at least 2 baffles. whooops! they didnt even ask. they probably didnt even care since some of the higher class cars were running open header like that purple corvette.

Re: Time improvements...

Scott: Dude im bout to go smack kevin around a bit for doing that, i remember he rewinded a little bit to show me a run, then i gave him the camera back...then moments later you walked up. so i dont think it was ever fast forwarded back to the end AT least you have proof of a 12.2 run on a slip! Still a good day of runs, and i hope ur not pissed about the video, cause i think kevin was out drinking heavily friday night so he still might have been a bit "out there"

Ron: As for EZ Pass, they only made EZ PASS to let all the slow cars get through first so they dont hold up traffic and then i can just go and make a "EZ PASS" later down the turnpike. , Were you taking pictures or a video when i was next to you breaking the sound barrier on the T-Pike?
Me and Kev were like, look Ron's doing no hands on the steering wheel

ED: Nice meetin you and your amazingly clean SS
good pics, at least we can say your reaction time was good by taking this pic of me launching http://bubba.smugmug.com/photos/42046525-M.jpg

well in the match i dialed in at 14.4, my RT was -.064, so i red lighted and ended up with another 14.0@101.

Ryan breaking the sound barrier on the TP.

You can just make out the car breaking through the first wave around the rear tire...

I took a couple of snap shots. That's the only one that came out decent. No prob on the no hands... the 97 TA tracks pretty nice on the highways.

Bri, WTF I thought you were on a jet plane to Vegas for SEMA?

Nobody never said a word to me about the exhaust. But if they did, I was going to point over to lanes 8 and beyond and say "mine is quieter than those over there..." Keep in mind though, that I do have dual cats on there. I think that helps... some.

I just showed Carol your "so close to 12's". She walked away laughing and saying "I knew it! I knew you weren't going to stop!"

I don't know, bro. I haven't thought of the "next mod" yet. I'll have to do my researching again to figure out what will gain me .4s. Maybe I'll take my back seat out. Nah, there won't be anyplace to sealt belt my helmet in.
