Project SR355 is ready to go back in the car!!

Well except for the valve covers... I picked up a set of used but highly polished fabricated covers. I'll post pics of them when the motor is back in. And I have to finish polishing the alternator bracket so the alternator can go back on.

What do ya think? I only wish my polishing skills were better. It could look a 1000 times better with some good polishing of some things. It doesnt look too bad in the pics but in person you can see I'm no profesional. Not bad for a newbie though. I hope it runs as good as it looks. Hoping for 550-600 FWHP n/a...

It looks really good man. Though I haven't seen many engines in person for show, I do like to look online still.

Hope to see it with the valve covers on soon!

I have a 1993 Camaro Z28. I am wondering if a GM 383 Small block be compatible with my LT1 cylinder heads and plenum? And will my T56 work with the 383 Small Block?

if you are talking about a gen 1 SBC then the answer is not that simple. Physically it can be done. Anything can be done if youg enough money. Is it worth it? No. Your better off selling the SBC and building a new LT1. The cooling system is totally different between the 2. The blocks are similar but not exact. They will both take the same crank, rods and pistons but the timing cover and heads are different.

Or your other option is to ditch the LT1 and go with a SBC and a carb. If its a street car probably not worth it again...

Next time for sure. Tons of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ cheaper.

Brian, why all the spit and polish???? You never open the hood in a bracket car.

Frank, yeah I got your message today. Just been busy around here and never got a chance to call you back. Were still waiting on the baby so as of now nothing has changed. I'll come down and get it eventually. We'll just have to see when Liz goes into labor.. Maybe next weekend but if she hasn't made a trip to the hospital, then probably not. I dont want to take the chance of driving down untill then, because she will call me as soon as I get there and say its time

Jim I dont know if this is going to be a full time bracket car... it will more likely be a good lookin part time bracket car

If I were out to build a full time bracket car I think I would have gone with a SBC and carb. Would have been much cheaper for sure. But I like the EFI stuff too. I'll be happy to just go racing again. Its been 1.5 years
