the Project is back at home!!!

I picked the car up tonight from Rhodes... Guys (and girls ) all I can say is WOW!!! Ron is a friggin miracle worker. The new custom 8pt chromoly cage is unbelivable. I have never seen work that looks like this... the welds, the bends, the custom fabrication work is like a work of art... I'm truly and honestly impressed! If anyone out there is looking for custom chasis work and fabrication... Ron is the man to go see.

Now for the details. Ron put in a set of MAC subframe connectors first, then installed a custom 8pt bar. He added in a bracket on the bar for the sholder restraints, and fabbed up a bracket and welded it to the floor under the seat for the submarine belt. Then he custom made a bracket to bolt the seat back to the cross bar. The car is home and tonight I put the rest of the belts in. Now all I have to do is put the carpet back in and its done... now I can get serious with the car since its legal to 10.0!!!!

I'll wait for Dirk to chim in, he meet me there and took a few pics. hopefully they will come out ok and he can post em for me. Dirk, you are the man bro, thanks for talking me into going with Ron Rhodes... the time and car he took with my car really shows in his work. Definately worth every penny I spent!

Now, I just have a few things to buy and its time to become the weight ****!

You can check out some of his work online at www.rhodescustomauto.com

Ron does a great job on the bars/cages/etc. He did my cage and a lot of little fab work for my car. He is definitely talented when it comes to his work. Hopefully, Dirk will shoot some pics and post them up.

Hey...I suggested Ron, too . He'll get mine in a few months...As soon as the bank account recovers from the new paint, and I can steal time from working on the newly aquired tubbed, caged 70 Camaro, and roller cammed 386 for it. I think the '93 is going to be our "slow" car

Have you put any full passes on it this year?

Are you going to try to get to a few more points races?

Now you can run the car flat out and not worry about slowing it down!!

all together it cost me ~1600. The bar itself was worth that much. I had a bunch of little extras in there too. He bought and installed my subframes along with fabing up some stuff for the belts.

Jackie, yes I can go racing again... half my problem was that I was too fast. the other was that I had a construction project going on at home so I used the too fast excuse to keep workin on the house. Now that both of them are taken care of I'll see ya at the track! I'll be there this weekend mainly for the seat time. Ive missed just about all of the first half so far... my main concern at this point is the second half... starting in a few weeks.

Brian, see ya on Saturday for Race #8. My point total looks like I missed a bunch of races. I'm learning and getting a bit better every week. Still looking to win the big check.
