progress on the Project, pics inside

Out with the old:

In with the new:

of course I couldnt put it back together all stock... I upgreaded a few item and just painted the rest:

The Spohn K member fit great and so far the only problem I had was that the stock brake line brackets didnt fit. Not sure whats up there, but I opted to modify the bracket rather than modify the K member:

Santa came early here too, he dropped off my latest present:

Some mock-up pics:

The rocker stands dont fit with the ARP head studs so Jesel provides new low profile head bolts and tool to replace the ones that interfeer with the rocker stands. Not sure I am really happy with using 4 bolts and the rest all studs but I guess thats what happens with aftermarket stuff. It doesnt always fit the way you want. Atleast Jesel provides top quality hardware and the required socket:

new Madman solid motor mounts:

Yes. I am going for the stock look and as light as possible. I have already removed everything from behind it and all my guages used to be mounted where the radio and HVC controls were. However I am toying with the idea of deleting the stock guage cluster and just making a blank to go in its place. The I would relocate all my Autometer guages to there and just cover the HVAC and radio holes with some blanks.

I'm not sure how to do this yet and I am looking into it. But I want the stock dash to go back in for sure.

August!?!? heck I hope to have the motor in a running next month. But I do have a wife who is ready to pop. She would be a bit pissed if I skipped the delivery to go work on my car lol

But seriously I am ordering the pushrods and valve covers after Christmas. (hoping for a few Summit gift certificates ) Once those are on I can put the motor back in. My TB is on backorder so I cant finish porting the intake till it gets here. I can put the intake on with the motor in the car but I'm not going to try and set up the rockers in the car. Its so much easier on a stand. Then I have to get it on a dyno for tuning. Shooting for 550-600hp.

Who said anything about being able to afford this build up lol

Believe me this has been in the works now for close to 2 years. And I have been working my butt off just to pay for alot of this stuff. I have been gathering parts for almost 2 years and I still cant afford it. My wife thinks I am nutz for dropping 10G's+ into a car. I have to admidt I sort of agree with her.

This car has cost me a new house. I wanted to move out of my rancher and into a bigger house but I cant afford that at all now.

I have to keep telling myself it will be worth it once it goes straight down the track the first time.

Looking sweet, Mod-Father!!!
The only sad part is that at this stage, there won't be too many "hand-me-down" parts. But I'm looking forward to lining up beside you and getting a solid smack down... been a long time since you first did that to me years ago one Friday night at Atco.

they should, there is only 1 part number for an LT1 head. The TFS head are the same as the stock castings as far as valve spacing and geometry goes.

Well since it back to the top,,,,

When is the engine going in? I'm around this week until Friday if you need a hand. I still need to get the water pump housing from you too. i can get it done next week if you want it done ASAP.
