Hey guys..long time for me to be here.

Jonel, NEOCC and Bob's Scorpion racing is all that you can get in the area for any type of 'club' activity. COFBA is great too but a long drive for you.

Got a question I'll ask here since this thread is up. I have a friend with a 350 who's looking to improve its performance. What shop around us is good for engine rebuilding. I think it was you Bob that suggested Commercial Engine for engine work but I wanted to double check.

Hey Rob,
I haven't seen or heard from you in forever, hope your holidays went well. As for Commercial Engine rebuilding of Eastlake,Ohio, Gary is happy with their work and I am also happy with their work!!! They put the shortblock together for my Blower engine for the 71' and I have no complaints. They do great work.

If you guys have any questions concerning Scorpion Racing, try to get ahold of Brian(Mongoose), if you don't know how to get ahold of him, just let me know & I will let him know.

Nice hearing from you Rob, don't be a stranger!!!

Cool, now I know

Bob's 01SLPSS What autocross/roadrace events are there around here? I'm setting my car up for road racing this year. I've discovered its alot more fun then driving in a straight line for 12 seconds

Grease,
Last year 2003, They had autocross events at the Old Euclid Square Mall South Parking Lot in Euclid,Ohio. The events were held by the Akron Sports Car Club and Corvette Cleveland Clubs.
I raced there with both clubs and it was alot of fun.

Also, they race at the Goodyear and Firestone Tire Plants in Akron,Ohio. I raced with the Akron Club at Goodyear Tire Plant and it was a blast!!!!

I discovered it was alot more fun than straight line last year, it is awesome but very hard on the car. I hope this helps, if any other questions, just ask!!!

Nice talking to ya Grease,
Bob JR.

In case you're interested, KMart is having problems with their neighbors again concerning their cruise-in. From an email dated 1/16

Hi Group,

Never thought that I would use my Big Al’s List email list for this, but the K-Mart cruise in Mentor is having neighbor problems with our Conditional Use Permit. The fine city of Mentor is behind us in having our Cruise In at K-Mart on Saturday Night this summer, but ONE of the neighbors has complaints of noise, carnival atmosphere, excessive engine idling and revving, and much more. She also claims that even though she lives upwind, with a hill and privacy fence between us, that the fumes from our cars is causing her health problems. She has caused quite the scene at the C U P hearing, and the City of Mentor still granted the permit to us with all 6 votes in our favor. She is taking the city to task for giving us the permit. I’m sure you all remember our K-Mart Cruise that was stopped by ONE person 5 years ago. We need some support. The News Herald News Paper ( Site Below ) has an article in it today, and has a place for YOU to write back to them with your thoughts on the matter. Please be courteous and professional. Remember, this could be any of our Cruise In’s or Shows. Please pass this email to all of your Cruising friends!!!!

Thank You,
Big Al

An email I received last night concerning the issue and a town meeting to be scheduled

Hi Group,

I would like to Thank all of you who took the time to write in to the News Herald on our behalf. We had quite a few comments sent to the Readers Response page, and quite a few sent directly to the editor. I again have a request of you local Cruisers. There will be an open forum meeting of the Mentor City Council on Tuesday at 7PM at the Mentor Civic Center. This is located just north of the High School on Rt. 615 (Center St.) which is North of Rt. 2. We would appreciate all of you who can make it to come to the meeting in strength to show your support. Bring your family, and all of your cruising friends. If you would like to speak, you must register before the meeting, and you will be allowed 3 minutes to speak. Please show that we are the well mannered adult family people that we are. Please do not attack nor condemn, but rather show your appreciation to the City of Mentor for helping bring Cruising back to K-Mart. Also, if we were made to move, we would not be able to donate as well to Make-A-Wish foundation. First Interstate Property Management is good enough to allow us to use Mentor Commons property, and supply us with the needed insurance and security that we would have to pay for out of our 50-50. Our first year we were able to donate $4,500 to Make-A-Wish with the help of their support! I have attached the News Herald Story, and some of the Readers Opinions. If you can help, it will be greatly appreciated by ALL of us. Remember, there is strength in Numbers!! If any of you not so local Cruisers would like to show your support, please email your comments to Elizabeth Limestahl of Mentor City at Limestahl@cityofmentor.com

Thank You and Happy Cruising.

Big Al

And some of the feedback comments,
