NYIRP Sunday Oct. 26

The long range forecast is for dry and chilly with a west wind. Ought to be good for high trap speeds if not good ET's. This is the last day I am likely to get out this year, and since I am building up a new shortblock anyway I am going to use the big nitrous jets (again) and go for "broke". I actually have a set of even bigger jets (57's instead of 52's) that I might try, depending how the first run(s) go.

It would be fun to see some of you guys. And you might find it entertaining to see some combination of me being booted off the track and/or a 4,000lb street, emission legal, 4th gen go nines (hopefully in reverse order). What I really want is a 10.0x, to prove it's possible without attracting too much attention from Bob Metcalf. Once someone sees a 9.xx on the board I am sure to be toast.

If I go, I am wearing my thermals!

I'll come up for it Rich. I didnt realize you were going to build a new shortblock next year.....if there is anything left of it (which I am sure there will be), could I buy some or all of it from you?

Hey Jason: once I have it torn down, I will know better what I am going to keep v. sell v. scrap. You have first dibs on anything reusable that I am going to replace. I am hoping the crank, at least, is in good shape and if it is I will re-use it. The rods should be good, but I may upgrade anyway. The whole point of the new shortblock is to go ten over (vs the current 40) so the pistons will need to go. They are low comp though, so probably not something you would need.

Anyway, I plan to get up there by 10:30 if the weather is looking good. As the date nears we'll know better.

Jason: if it comes off, do you want me to bring the rims and tires?

Rich Ill be there. Hopefully I can get this upper RPM miss figured out before hand. New coil, plugs, etc and Im still getting a miss. Im hoping a new set of wires does the trick. The weather sounds like itll be alot better than when the car went 12.006 so 11's on this budget motor sounds like no problem.

I hate to be a pain in the *** but did you get a chance to look up those files yet. There is still some timing stuff I want to experiment with before the year is out. Thanks.

Rich, that is no problem. Actually it would be perfect since I would need pistons and rods (and that block) since I alreay have a Callies 3.75" crank.

Oh yeah, on those pistons....I just bought a YS trim

Hey guys. I should have mine up there just to run a couple times before it goes in storage for the winter. Next year I got some big plans for that car, based on funds really. Take Care,

If it's not snowing I'll probably be there to give the 'Bird it's final real beating of the year.
