i have a 98 z28 everythign will pass but it has the check engine light on because of the egr was removed from the previous owner. if i go with my ls1 edit and make so the light dose not come on will this trick the NY inspection machine or will the ny comp no there really a DTC. any lope holes in the ny system?

 

My friend removed the EGR on his GTP, and had the code removed. But on the NYS Inspection computer it showed up. something about how the test was incomplete....

You may have better luck, but don't be surprised if you fail. I dunno if you can find an EGR spoof, but thats what he ended up having to get, and that simulated the EGR test enough to fool the NYS Computer.

 

im not saying ur gonna pass, BUT u can delete out teh egr and possibly pass
the deal is ur car has to not have a SES light on(or anyother light) and u have to pass 3of 5 ready states , ur egr is one ready state which means u can fail at least one more , and still pass (99-02 or 00-02 has to pass 4of 5 readys states i cant remember which ) , i beleive u are reccomeded to fix teh problem still

ready states include, egr, air , rear o2s not sure of teh others

dont quote me on this but get it deleted out and u may be able to pass

 

yea the kid befor me deleted the egr and the air

 

get rid of the light with ls1 edit by deleting it out of ur computer permanently and c what happens

 

ok the motor is currenlty out of the car geting replace with my 396ci LS1 iw ill let u no what happens in the next mnonth
