Yeah its has hurt the summer fun significantly. When I can finally pull it and see how bad it will be rebuilt better then ever. Should be ready for the juice once I pay for the rebuild.

Re: New to site.

Sorry to here about the blown motor!

I too am in the begining of a rebuild, however its an lt1 I've owned new since '95 with a few more miles than yours..

Contemplating a 383 or bulletproof 350 for a future supercharger

How did you blow yours?

Re: New to site.

For a while now I have been trying to figure out a vibration that I have been getting at 70mph and also when the car is in Park the motor hits about 1700rpm it vibes pretty a little. I have replace EVERYthing from the tranny back and also had the tranny looked at, nothing. About a month ago I notice a pretty loud tick from the motor at idle, almost valvetrain like. I took it to a local engine builder and he told me that it was probably a bad wrist pin or rod. Not sure what else is bad. Very soon after that the car just started running like crap, missing, knocking, etc. It runs just has a noticeable knock and needs to be pulled out. I'm getting around to it, just work and time has gotten in the way. I'm trying to get a workable budget setup but its going to be really tight on my funds with college and all.
