Hi guys! Its been a while since I have talked with you all.
Rob, nice pix. I was gonna show up that day too but something came up. I don't think we have actually met in person, although I have seen your Camaro. It sure is a nice third gen. Chris' red Iroc in your pix is my old car. He bought it from me, god I miss that car. You will know me by my cars probably: 1999 black SS with a Jon Moss ZL1 style silver stripe and REALLY loud! and a 2000 navy blue metallic WS6 T/A thats kinda loud too. My fiance, Kat drives the WS6. We both share the presidency of SCORPION RACING. We decided to create a car club back in 1997 with just our three cars (my 1995 Formula and 1987 Iroc-Z , and Kat's 1995 Cobra). We have about 10 cars in the group now. We did have 18 but several members sold their cars. We are always looking for new members. I have been trying to get some of the guys here to come out and meet with us. Its kinda cool when you see the Scorpion cars driving around with the logos on them. We are pretty leniant on the logos. Some members have small logos and others have the huge SCORPION on the window. Last year we really just had a couple objectives to get in the group. We require a 1/4 mile dragstrip time slip of 14.5 or quicker for V8s and 14.9 for v6s naturally aspirated(14.5 if forced induction). Some members had expressed propositions of lowering the times since factory cars are getting quicker and quicker. We will have a meeting on this subject though. We plan to attempt to rent either Norwalk or Thompson drag raceway, and do some autoX events. I would also like to have some group outings. I think if we all could meet up like at the Squires Castle and bring a couple gas grills, cook out, hang out, get some good group pics too. That kind of stuff would be cool. If any of you are interested by all means give me a shout. I have met a couple guys from www.ls1tech.com from northeast ohio with some bada$$ cars that may be interested in meeting us all. I have been trying to get Gary, ripper and grease, and Ryan to join Scorpion!

SCORPION RACING IROC-Z (Chris)
Hey Rob, this is Chris with the 87 IROC-z camaro that is in SCORPION RACING. I just wanted to say that it was nice to meet u and that u have one of the nicest third gens around. I appreciate u taking pics of my car and look forward to talking to u in the future at Hardees in Willoughby, and hopefully this time we will have a bigger outcome of F-bodies and have more friends show up for the fun. See u again
Brian, I haven't seen your car around too much lately, your driving it now right? You guys go up to Hardees every Sunday? I've talked to Steve a few times lately, he's buddies with a dude that lives next to me. I'll try to get up to Hardees next Sunday and Annebelles fri. and sat. if there's people there.
I am still interested. I was expecting the details in an email but never got one. 95_RipperZ@team.camaroz28.com
Hey rob, this is steve, thanks for the posting of pics, hopefully i will beable to get the front rims from brian this weekend so maybe new pics could be taken with a uniform look. You have a very nice 3rd gen, it is very clean, thanks again. Hey gary, come on out, it is fun when you have 10-15 plus f bodies to shoot the bull with. The more the better, if anyone else can show up it would be great. Fri and sats were usually in a group at ananells and from 7:00 p.m. to whenever at hardees on sundays, we usaually take a cruise around about 9:00 p.m. Come on out, If you need directions to either, email me at ecstazz28@sbcglobal.net and let me know where your coming from and I guide you to us.
See ya all this weekend.
See ya all this weekend.
Gary,
I am driving my SS now, but I don't drive it everyday especially to work. I just can't see driving it to Classic and leaving it in the lot all day for the sun to beat down on it and the birds leaving gifts on the paint for me. I am running my Et Streets right now.I am planning on buys chrome ZO6 rims. Steve bought my chrome ZR1s. I am going with 17x9.5s with 275s until I can afford to upgrade the rears to 18x10.5 with 295-35zr-18 BFG drag radials. Then I plan to drop it 1-1.5 inch. I can't wait to get a clean pass out of the SS,after blowing my slicks off 1st-3rd gears, almost hit the wall and running a 12.5@114mph. Although I was told by Chris that he could have sworn the front tires came off the ground a bit on the launch

Hey Brian, i was just reading the post that u put up about the run at the track when u almost hit the wall shifting into third gear, and i sware on everything that i own that i saw the front tires come off the ground, I SAW LIGHT DAMNIT, lol, but besides the point it was still a bad *** run that u put out, i just can't wait to see it get a good pass!!!!!!!!! And for u Gary, u should really come out, i have not really had a chance to look at your car and talk to u that much, i would like to sit down and through some F body bs around with u man, try to get up to anabelles this weekend or to hardees. Talk to all u guys later.
Chris,
I wish someone would have gotten it on tape
Gary's Z28 is pretty sweet. Gary, get yourself a 12 bolt, speed up your shifts and you should be in the low 12s. I am surprised Waswa(Grease)hasn't chimed in yet. You out there buddy. Its me Brian, I borrowed your old torq arm when I broke mine. I will be getting my new oone within the next few weeks and I would like to return yours to you, as I said I would. When I get my new one, I can drive your's down to you if you want(I live in Mentor and I think Waswa lives down past Summit Racing). He was nice enough to let me use it for free. Its not damaged or anything. All I needed it for was to be able to move the SS when I needed to. I will clean it all up for you too. I will be switching from Royal Purple oil(street version)to either the race version or Red Line. Both the race version RP and RL are about $8.00/qt, but their viscosities don't deminish as the engine builds heat. So I can kill two birds with one stone, as one would say: I can get my new oil and give WASWA his TORQ QRM too.
My invitation goes out to everyone in the area(northeastern Ohio). We want to grow as a club. We need some sweet cars. I know they are out there. It would be SWEET to all meet up prior to going to Annibelles. Everyone have their rides all shined up. Picture the people's faces at Annibelles if Scorpion Racing rolled in with a convoy of 20-30 cars. Cars ranging from f-bodies, to stangs, cobras, vettes..................all sweet cars.

I think Waswa lives in Uniontown or the surrounding area. He works in Canton. Both are a small chunk away from Summit Racing.
If I remember correctly, the guys at Bigshotdyno gained I think 5-6 rwhp by going to syn oil with their 02 GT.

Brian, I take it you saw my 12.9 run that Rich taped. Yeah, I was shifting like a grandma on that one, but don't forget that was the first time taking it to the track since the cam/heads swap and I was still running the stock clutch. I definetly am planning on a 12 bolt and N20 again, but that probably won't happen until next year.
I'll try to make it up to Annebelles this weekend and hopefully Hardees too.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I'm looking forward to the weekend and seeing more of the scorpion racing club at either Annabelles or Hardees. The lot at Hardees, full of f-bodies was really turning heads out on Vine that night. All were very nice looking cars. Of the 10 cars that came out, are all of them scorpion members?
As the saying goes, if you can't run with the big dogs you better be sitting on the porch. Me and my little LO3 will have to sit on the sidelines or bring up the rear when you guys cruise but I have no problem with that. I hope your club grows with new members but in the mean time, I'll enjoy your cars at Anna's and Hardees
