My new TEA Trick Flow heads are here!!!!

Got home from work today and had a little present sitting at my front door for me. TEA built TFS heads. I got 2 words for you... BAD ***!!!!

Heres the rundown:
-23 degree head for LT1
-2.08/1.60 valves, +.050" Ti retainers
-1.550 springs, installed at 1.950, 235# on the seat
- 10Deg lash caps
-TFS guideplates and ARP 7/16" studs

-220cc Full CNC port
-competition multi-angle valve job hand blended
-63cc chambers

FLOW NUMBERS:

LIFT Int Exh
.100 69 51
.200 144 118
.300 208 182
.400 260 222
.500 299 248
.550 310 255
.600 312 261
.700 317 269

Now thats a bad *** set of heads!!! Should go good with my 263/270 solid roller from Cammotion that is also on the way!!!

Re: My new TEA Trick Flow heads are here!!!!

well still waiting for my short block to be finished too. That should be done by Friday.

Then I have to gather everyting up and put it all together. Just about everything is new from the oil pan up... I still dont have an intake either. Lt1 just wont cut it, I need an LT4 manifold. Or a converted single plane but I dont want to go that route...

Oh and the car is still in pieces too. the 12 bolt needs to be built and installed, trans and tq arm need to go back in, interior and dash are still out. Oh and did I mention I dont know how long it will take me to get it running since I deleted the BCM with no engine to test my wiring harness modifications with? If its running and tuned by Christmas I'll be happy.

it is LT1... but opened up to 220cc's the LT1 manifold just wont cut it. If you dont have them ported and stick with the stock 195cc casting then the LT1 manifold will work just fine.

or I might have to have an LT1 manifold welded up and ported to fit these heads.

would have been cool to see a single plane setup... but the car should be kickass nonetheless

Those heads sound like junk. You should put then out in the trash with the old crank, rods, and pistons. Let me know what your trash days are.

Re: My new TEA Trick Flow heads are here!!!!

They are TFS 195 cc heads. They do not make an LT4 specific head. But when you port the 195 cc heads and end up with runners of 220 cc's the LT4 manifold is the only manifold that will fit. Phisically I think an LT1 manifold will bolt up to it but the runners just wont match up to the head right. The heads are 195cc's as cast from TFS. AFR does the same thing with their heads... if you were to buy a 210 or so cc head from AFR you would get a 195 cc head that was ported to 210cc's. You can not buy AFR heads now... AFR has them on back order and is not selling them. (rumor is that they are testing a new casting but it will not be out for a long, long, long time)The difference between LT1 and LT4 heads is runner size. TFS heads have plenty of material to open them up for some serious power. You can start out at the level of an already ported LT1 casting with a TFS195cc head and open them up to be much more than what an LT4 casting can support... you wont get 300+ cfm at .500 lift from a stock LT4 casting no matter how much port work you have. But you can do that on a TFS 195 cc casting

The heads have a dowel hole for both LT1 and LT4 gaskets...

This man speaks the truth. I bought a set of ported to the max TFS heads as well (from someone else though, and they were the "as cast" bare castings) and that is how I was told it works too.

Jim,

Since you posted this AM, I'll assume you didn't make the Bracket Finals cut?? I didn't even run points this year so I can't call myself a looser for missing the cut
