Post Maple Grove Friday night 8/23

I'm going to make a rare Friday night appearance at the Grove. After 6 weeks I need to relearn how to drive. Rumor has it that a red "street" TA will be there making a few 10 second passes. I on the other hand will be looking for my first run in the 12's. Last Saturday I went 13.21 in the 92 degree heat. FLP headers are increadable. I will be running again on Saturday.

Hey Kaz, sounds like you have the car running right again, was it the tuning or something else? I won't be able to make this Friday night, going to the shore this Wednesday - Monday for a much needed vacation but I want to hit the Grove soon. I just got my 4:10's intalled this weekend I'm taking it a easy on them for a little while until the new bearings and all get broke in. I also need to get some programming done for the gears, fans, and a bunch of other items. It sure pulls nice now though, can't wait to try them out at the track. I'm gonna be there next Friday 8/30, maybe I'll catch you then.

Gregg, I had 2 burnt plug wires. Car ran 14.0's on 6 1/2 cylinders. I can't wait for better air. My guess is mid 12's in the cool fall weather. Last Saturday afternoon I dialed 13.29 and broke out with a 13.24. I had a big lead and pulled off the gas at the 1st cone and coaster across at 99mph. My bad, should of tapped the brakes. Car really pulles on the top end. I lost a litle tork on the bottom so I'm hooking better. Ran 1.89 60'(my best ever) on that loosing race. My guess is a 13.15 if I didn't back off the run. My best is 13.18 at E-town with a stickey track and 50 degree temp. Too bad the car wasn't running like this for the shootout.

I'm heading out to the Grove on Fri. More to take pictures and talk to turbo car owners than to watch. It would be cool to see some 10s f-body runs. The guy that owns the 9s f-body is from Birdsboro. I've never seen him at the Grove, though.

Later,

Steve.

Steve, Mike is going to make 2 test runs with the new converter. He's trying to get into the 9's again this time with all motor and no spray. Stop by and say hi. I pit on the stones near the staging lanes just down from the bathrooms. I don't know where Mike will pit but you can't miss the enclosed trailer with "RAPID MOTOR SPORTS" on the side. Mike is also partical to the color red.

kazman,

Sounds good. I'll look for your car.

Yeah, I saw Mike's outfit at E-town in July.

Later,

Steve.
