Talking It's Alive

Just got my car back today. Whoo hoo. 383 Eagle forged bottom end, Stage II heads, Joe O custom cam and programming. I'm praying for a good day next Sunday at ATCO. First 2 passes will be all out then will tone it down to run 12.0

Steve, I'll post the numbers Sunday night. Final tune is this Saturday and I hope to get some actual track time Sunday.

That's cool. NHRA street class + 383 + no roll bar = short shift at 5200.

How's my math?

Close, I have an 8 point roll bar. If I change class and run heavy I will need it. or at least I hope so.

Well then! If you've got all the good stuff you should ad a healthy dose of giggle gas on that bad boy and play with the big dogs! Nothing better looking than a 4th gen pulling both wheels up. That being said, I know class racing down there at the Grove is brutal even in Street. I would guess that Heavy is even a step up from that.

I'm anxious to see your dyno and some ET's with all of your changes. Your car is (or was) a lot like mine in terms of weight, and setup. Of course now you went for the big cubes and only have three easy gears to deal with.

The guy re-doing my heads says he thinks he can get another .2 in the 1/4 out of them. Lloyd did them the first time through and did a respectable job. They picked up 40HP over my stock heads with the 306 cam . The tweeked versions should put me in the 11.9999999999 range on a very good day. Time will tell!
