i need your guys opinons
ok well tonight i went to autostrada in bensalem. there is a beautiful mint 97 trans am/ firebird formula, red, automatic, 38,906 miles, cloth seats, chrome wheels, cd. this car is in excellent condition!! so to make a long story short i take the car for a drive and it drives very well. so i asked them what they were offering off the price of 14,888. they said they lowered the price from 17,500 to 14,888 in which i say BULL$HIT!!! so they said they would come down to 14,500 plus tax and tags. i'm going to put 1,000 down so the payments would be 267.00 for 72 months and 9.9% i go to kelly blue book and the car is worth 10,135 dollars...i think i put down all the options in and the price of 10,135 come out...ok my question is what do you guys think..am i getting taken for a ride or is the price of 14,500 sound right to you??
opinons please!

WAY too much! Period. I got my 97 Formula, black, grey cloth interior, chrome wheels, CD player, power windows/locks, borla exhaust, viper alarm, and an optima battery with 29,995 miles last summer for $9k. And that was in Ohio. You can get a really nice LS1 for $14k. I would keep looking.

Sounds a little steep to me. You can find clean LS1s with lower miles that that for the same price. I'd suggest looking around some more before you make your final decision.

Yea you can find a nice 6spd LS1 with 60K on it for 14ish..
Autostrada only deals with those "high end" cars..they defintly own that car for 8 grand i think...but who knows..
personally i wouldnt do it
wait it out, maybe they will give you a follow up call saying they can do alot better

I would wait a couple months while that car is still on their lot and then make at most, a $10k offer. If you're willing to spend $15k, look for an LS1, especially on www.ls1tech.com.

Way too much E...
Its probably very nice but I wouldnt pay anything more that 9.5 for it.... If they are stuck at 14.5 they probably wont go to 9.5. Youll have a hard time getting them down to 13 which is still way too much for an LT1. Even if it is ram air and in really good condition.
Keep looking. your probably better off finding one not at a dealer and save a few bucks. If gotta have a loan your best bet is to go get a loan from the bank on your terms or buy one with a HE line of credit. Pay it off in 2-3 years if you can. The quicker you pay it off the better you are off.
with those terms stated abouve you end up shelling out over 20g's for a 97 TA.... thats $19.78 per month, per thousand borrowed.... thats a rip off any how you look at it.
Honestly if they cant do 60 months at ~$195-$200 per mo tops then you are paying alot for that car. If they cant make money on that car with those terms then you need to move along.

oh and i forgot to mention the car is a WS6 and i just got of the phone with the guy and he said that they aren't going down much on the car. he said you aren't going to find a car in this shape with 38,000 miles for less that 14,000. well i'm going to wait awhile and see what happens..i have 3 grand to play with and i'm looking to spend about 10 grand right now so well see what happens.

It's a nine year old car!!! '97's are not collector pieces. Now maybe some of the anniversary TA editions of '99 that are fully booked and documented...
But what do I know about '97s...
