Heading to Cecil County Sunday

Gonna try to catch one of those awesome Cecil days. Pressure looks like it's gonna be real good and about 65 degrees. Probably be around zero DA in the morning.
Anybody else going?

Re: Heading to Cecil County Sunday

How'd it go Steve?

I ran there yesterday, killer weather, ran my new best time:

60' : 1.758
1/8 : 7.722
mph : 90.49
1/4 : 12.019
mph : 115.49

Made 5 passes, that run was on the 2nd pass but I just couldnt beat it. On my last run I missed the 3-4 shift and overreved it hard and heard a ugly bang It had a slight tap after that from the driver side valve cover and it was running a bit off. I didnt have any tools with me and decided to try and limp it home. Got about 15 miles from the track and started hearing some squeeling sounds as well . Pulled over shut it off and had to call a tow truck. Got it home and pulled the cover and saw a few small scrapes at the top of the two #1 cyl rocker arms. It looked like the retainer nut on each hit the ends of the rockers. Pulled the rockers and they still moved fine and the pushrods looked fine. Need to pick up a pressure gauge and see if I still have compression in the cyl. Im thinking the bang was probably one or more valves hitting a cyl. Oh well, looks like shes gonna be parked for a looong winter

Heck, I missed your runs. I was looking for F body guys but only saw a White/Orange Camaro. I ran in Heavy so that why I missed you. I was tracking DA and it was -250 when we got to the track. Went up to about 800 by the 1st round. My car ran very good also. I ran 11.67, 11.68,11.66 at 121MPH. My clutch preload was set a bit light and I over powered the clutch in the 2nd round and lost bad.

Sorry I missed you.

I was down there for a few hours on Saturday, and I think I got one of your runs on film. I'll check for it when I get home from work and I'll post up if I have it.

Steve, I was there on Saturday just running some t&t, there was a pretty big group of Fbody's there LT1's & LS1's. Maybe I'll catch you there one day next year, I dont think I'll have it out again this season. Still trying need to figure out exactly what I messed up.

Justin, that'd be cool if you could post one of my runs, I'd love to see it. Thanks.

It's been a busy week, but I'm gonna try to pull the vids tonight. I'll let you know whether I got one of you or not.
