Guys, did you make it to Cayuga?
We made it there with only a few rain drops on the way. Track conditions were horrible. Zero traction down the entire track. Every single car that was there could not hook. I'll let the respective people explain more about their runs if they wish. It was nice to see everyone again though.
Yeah, Scott and I rode down together. It was a trek, took nearly 2h from my house. The facility seemd pretty nice, but there weren't many cars and they didn't bother to turn on many of the lights in the pit area, so it was DARK! Kind of appropriate for Halloween, I guess.
The traction was TERRIBLE. I made just two runs and then loaded up. There wasn't much point. First run I got on and off three times, it was spinning even in top gear (no nitrous). Second run was better, I lauched in second and ran 11.7 @ 132. But there was no way I was gonna launch hard and it just wasn't much fun to run on such a slippery track.
It was nice to see Scott and Steve (who I haven't seen forever). Steve had two buddies with him, nice guys who are real motor heads! I got to smoke a cigar on the ride back, I hope I didn't stink out Scott.

Bummer on the track prep
Rich, if you wanted to get some last passes for the season you could always make a trip to some of the PA tracks....they are usually open until mid-November. It would be a bit of a drive though. Mabye even Norwalk Ohio.
Anyway, what are your plans for the winter Rich?

Other than that, depending on finances, I may get the Gear Vendors.
What are you doing Jason? Are you going with the blower? What heads?

I have only one thing to say- THAT IS WHAT THIS WHOLE "THING" IS ABOUT. It doesn't even matter that the track sucked after a 2 hour ride.
Good friends, good ride, great memories.
The ride down was pretty cool, and getting to the track, and having nothing but WNY'ers coincedentally waiting at the gates was funny. A few canadians showed later.
The track sure sucked though.
Even after a healthy burnout, the car wanted to jump- but as soon as I left, the rear would kick. It was also a hairy ride the rest of the way. There is something about your rear sliding out @ 85mph in third that screams, "Wake up stupid!". lol. Even while getting on and off a little- I guess I am happy.
I learned how to burn out on slicks, and gained some more experience- and still had a great time.
THANKS!!

Rich, yeah I am leaning heavily towards bitting the bullet and doing the blower setup. The reason why I asked about your plans is that I would be extremely interested in buying your current pistons and rods.
5.7" pro-mods and JE pistons with a 21cc dish?
I have a guy willing to trade me his new T-trim, ported heads, intake, and complete valvetrain for my 215 raised runners. Very tempting, since I am liking the driveability side of things and want to get the car running high 130s in the 1/4.
I am leaning towards a 383 (have the block and crank already), T-trim, solid roller, AFR 195s, heddman 1 7/8" longtubes (already have), Impedence converter, BaP, etc...
What do you think?
Thanks, Jason

The pistons are pn 131631 in a 0.040" oversize (bore = 4.040") for a 5.7" rod/3.75" stroke. They have a a 31cc dish. The crowns have been ceramic coated by Swain with a TBC. The rods are Lunati Pro Mods. Yours if you want them, though I may just keep the rods.
