Just wandering if anyone has used a good machine shop in the Gettysburg area. I'm building a 383 LT1 and I need someone that can do all the work including splaying the caps at an affordable price. York, Harrisburg, Carlisle, Camp Hill, Hanover, etc

Possibly if someone knows of a good place to have my heads done also.

i live down in york i had my 383 built by snyder performance in dover1(717)495-3415 or randy at napa 1(717)843-0871 ask for shop randy is considered one of the better engine builders in york does a lot of sprint 410 motors 810 na horse power aint to shabby by the way do you have all of your parts?im selling my forged rotating assem. if interested

 

There is a great engine builder at our local napa but he said they can't splay the caps there and I'd like to have everything done at one place. Unless that napa is somehow different. What do you want for your rotating assembly? how many miles on it, compression, brands etc.

I used Gebhart's machine shop in Hanover. Small shop and he's the only guy so you know your getting his work. Very nice machine work and easy to talk to. He has his own crank balancer as well.

Can he splay the caps? I really want the added strength and most places around here can't do it or charge the hell out of you for it.

I don't think I've seen your car around I actually live in aspers now so I'm right down the road from you. I'll have to keep an eye out for your car so I don't try to race you. Thanks for the reply.

I'm pretty sure he can splay the caps. If you want, I'll root up his number. BTW I was born and raised in Aspers. Worked at ACN nursery from the time I was about 8 until 21. My car doesn't see much street time. I do thrash it over at SM dragway every Sunday however.
