Good day at NYIRP!

Jason and I both ran good. I was very pleased with 10.77 at over 134mph in a car that driven 110miles round trip to the track .

I hope the weather is good Nov. 3rd and that more folks show up.

God Job Rich. Was that full weight???
If so take out all you dont need and go for low, low 10's in Nov.

Rich did you get a chance to ask Bob what he thought about my problems?

I took out the front passenger seat, the spare, jack, and other crap I usually have in the car. Probably in the range of 75lbs, which puts it near 4,000lbs (with driver). But I was "granny shifting". My plan was to speed shift if my first run wasn't in the 10's. Since it was, I actually made only one run. If I get out Nov. 3 I will go for broke and try to speed shift it. Bob Kennedy says it should be worth ~two tenths, maybe a little more. I wanted to get another couple of weeks of driving in, so I wanted to avoid speed shifting if possible. If I go Nov. 3 I will aim for <10.5 so I can say "low 10's daily driver". A little exaggeration, but not much . I will take out the back seat for a little more weight reduction as well.

That 1.54sec 60' felt GOOD. Jason said it lifted the front wheels. The calculator at www.prestage.com gives 1.56G avg. acceleration for the 60' . I hit the rev limiter before exiting the traps, so I really need 28" tires. Can't wait to see how it feels when it gets down near the 1.3sec area for the 60'. A 1.33sec 60' averages >2G!!

My buddy Joe ran 9.88, his first run in the 9's with his 5.0, so it was a great day.

"lifts wheels of the ground" <-*shakes his head in amazement*

Dont know what else to say Rich, Im lost for words.

I was so pumped up I totally forgot to talk to Bob about your car . I will defnitely do so tomorrow. Gotta keep you on the road!

If Jason can't hook you up with a used motor, I will ask around. Jason seems the master at finding F-boody parts though!

Dave you cant drive Rich's car. Only people with Fbody's can drive it.

You better get that LS1 of yours soon.

All in all it was a great day Weather was beautiful and the best part was that my dad, Rich, and Gary were all there.

Rich's car is just sick....I have the whole run on video. I mean, he is barrelling at the top end of the track...just flying Needless to say, I will be spraying next year. I was also very impressed with Rich's launch....I am not 100% sure that he pulled the wheels, but it was VERY close....the suspension at least was totally unloaded (as seen on the vid). The best part is that his car is sooo quiet.

Dave, how about next weekend on the rear end?

As usual, my ET was weak, no suprise with the stock 10 bolt and poor nitto DRs (that dont help traction at all in every car I have driven or raced)...best ET was 11.85. Only made 2 runs since the track was packed....my best mph went up to 124 (123.9x). I wanted 125 today, but need tuning and valvesprings. The best track related part of the day for me was my 1/8 mile mph was 97..telling me that my car is laying down on the top end (valvesprings I think). I am going to run again either next weekend and/or the 3rd weather permitting since I couldnt get many good runs yesterday.

Matt, yeah he still has the motor, let me know what you want to do.

Talking

Rich:

You rock man!

Did you lay the smack down on anything during that run? Maybe a Supra?

Dang Jason, don't sound so down! Your 1/8 speed was 97mph NA while mine was 102mph with dual power adders. Your car was impressive! When you get the 12-bolt and some decent tires (like my ET Streets) you will be flying. Then a little spray, and you be in the 135mph range for sure.

Are you gonna shoot that video to: rkrause@kaleidahealth.org?

Yeah, there has to be a couple more mph in the run if I had a good launch.

Rich, could I borrow your ET Streets for a couple runs next sunday or on the 3rd if the weather is good (an you go to the track)?

I think the timing is a bit too much as well.

If you are willing to change them, you can use them! It's kind of hard on my back
