FLFB Jan 18th (Rochester)

Ok, the event will be the Jan 18th in Rochester. Meeting at our "usual" meeting venue (Pizzera UNO's).

Meeting time: 4:30pm

We will be having some dinner (not a UNO's) and discussing the 2003 events (North vs. South shootout, NYI, Watkins Glen, BBQ's, and possibly one other trip). One event/month as usual...and a some fun bench racing and catching up with everyone after the Holidays It will be fun!

Hope to see everyone there!
Jason

Yeah good thinking Rich. We were a hair away from getting really lost last time we all went to Jason's.....and in the process really lost Dave S. for a couple minutes too.

I am excited to see everyone!

Here are the directions from the Thruway: (from Buffalo) take the Thruway (I90) east to exit 46 (exit for I390). After the toll booth, take I390 NORTH to the very next exit (Exit 13 Hylan Dr). At the light, take a left. This will take you over the highway. Go thru a couple more lights, and at the 2nd or 3rd light you will see Pizzeria UNO on your right. We meet in the parking lot behind there.

Rich, I returned your email with my cell number in it

Looking forward to this event!!

I would like you guys to consider a track day at NYI. We talked about this last year but I couldn't get enough people to commit. Last year, they wanted $50/car with a 10 car minimum. What we should try for is something like 15 cars and offer $500 being willing to go to $600, which would be $40/person. Their costs really aren't directly related to the number of cars, what I think Bob Metcalf wants to avoid is something that happened a few years ago with someone renting the track for $500 and running a profit making event with a hundred cars or something.

Anyway, I'd need a firm commitment from at least 7-8 people to avoid getting stuck with the tab if we were to go ahead. Think about it! I am sure that Bob Kennedy and my friend Joe Zito would be there. They are both experienced drag racers and could give us a lot of coaching. I'd try to get Bob to bring his alcohol Hemi car out - you would all enjoy getting "up close and personal" with a car like that. It's awesome!

Rich: Even though my car is primarly set up for Roadcouse duty I will commit to a track day. I think this would be a great oppurtunity for many of us less experienced drag racers

Rich, you always have a commitment from me on a track day like that....just let me know when and I will be there. Do we get a "rain check" if the weather is bad? I am sure they wouldnt charge us for something like that. Anyway, I would like to do it in April or early May if we could (before it gets too warm). It will be nice to get some 6000+rpm launches this spring.

Paul, you dont need me there Craig's car is solid...I have ridden in it many times and he knows his stuff. No worries there.

I will email Bob and try to get some details prior to the 18th. Hard to imagine there wouldn't be a "rain check" policy, but I will check to be sure. Mid May seems best from a weather point of view, and everyone should be ready to rock and roll by then. My plans have grown and grown, but things are moving along. Should have the car on the dyno April 1, or sooner.

I still haven't made a transmission decision.

Dave, Im going to request to work till three that way we can leave at 3:30-3:45. In case you ever want to stop by I work at the Noco on borden and french now. Just look for the POS red tempo.

Rich Id be interested in the track day also. Dont know how the 10 bolt will hold up with the 383 and an M6 though. Better bring your trailer just in case.
