That right you's guys that don't need to get tested for emissions. Well starting April 1 2003 you will be getting tested. You will not be exemt anymore. Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, York counties and so on. The list goes on. Sorry for the news and heads up on what is happening. This is a deffinent go that was passes earlier today.

Ahhh, so we NJ folks won't have to suffer from all that pollution that drifts over from PA! Now if we could only stop them from burning leaves on the side of the road. Does this mean the Amish will have to put catalytic converters on their horse and buggy?

Question

Damn the tree huggers is right.

Does anyone know what they do for emissions. In Tx(Houston/Dallas) if you had the OBD II computer(96 and up cars) they were just checking your Service Engine Soon light..if it was on..nope sorry, if it was not on..your good to go.

The other cars had to do the sniffer. Anyone know what they are going to do here?

Now I don't feel so bad for buying a brand new cat for it last month, looks like I'm gonna need it around here!

I sure do I failed last month my first time testing since removing my d/c setup & switching to single cat headers. My car wasn't running right at the time due to bad plugs, an O2 sensor problem and using an old worn out cat. The CO2, NOX etc readings were off the charts, all more than 2x the limit. He gave me the fail report and I was like After installing a new cat, correcting the O2 sesnor & changing plugs though it passed just fine on the free retest.

The emmissions guy didn't care that I didn't have the dual cats anymore. I even told him about it and he didnt seem to understand why or what I was talking about as long as he saw a cat under the car. As far as the check engine light, mine was on both times I had it tested and they didn't mention anything about it. One of the codes was actually for the post cat O2 sensors too, I put simms in but one is burned out, oops! I would definitely recomend having a good cat you can at least swap in at test time, that's what I want to do with mine soon when I get an OR pipe made up. Without one I don't think there is any way in hell an OBDII car is gonna pass it

My 93 passed NJ emissions on the roller dyno and that was with the supercharger, 160 t-stat, SLP chip, Mor-Flo 3" cat. The only thing that worried me was that they test it in the building and the Flowmaster exhaust started sounding pretty loud inside the building.

Well, I still have my stock manifolds and ypipe, so I guess I should be ok with an 8# Procharger...and the rest of the engine is stock..right?
