Englishtown... Nov 12th

Who all is going?

There will only be a few corvettes this time...
Time Trials, Ford & Mustang Showdown 4, Trophy Marathon and Corvette Challenge Top 16

This is the next to last time for the track. The 19th will be it. Weather is looking to be on the cool side this weekend. (Dress warm. )

No whining... let's go!!! (Except for Pampered-z who mailed me a valid notarized excuse.)

Re: Englishtown... Nov 12th

I will "try" to make this one. Depends if I can move my "honney-do" list back a few more weeks. It will be another double weekend due to Pontiac day at Atco on Sunday. I'm going to run the ugly black car again. I didn't do too bad last Sunday at Maple. I don't want to talk about last Saturday at Englishtown Anyway this is next to the last weekend of the season.

Ron, fyi Sunday I didn't dial down and got a .0019 and .008 mov wins.

I will be running my Nova at Atco on Saturday. Hoping for some cool weather to get her into the 9's! Jim has seen her on the track in action, but the rest of you haven't. Here's a short video from one of my first passes in it (10.26 - best that night was a 10.13@132).

And a pic from the Philadelphia Modifier's Race we hit up on our way home from the bracket finals:

Hey, do as i tell ya, not as i do or should say did. Yea the truck's turbo was sucking diesel chasing you down the NJ turnpike at 90mph. The thin hair wins were actually executed. I was really hot on the top end and was "backing" into people all day. I double entered and lost in the finals of Trophy and semi finals of Street (went -.004 red). Poor little black car went thur 9 rounds plus 4 time trials. Last 4 rounds were seperated by a total of a 10 minute cool down. I made a run in Trophy and then right onto the track for the Street round. When I turn over the car to the little pup I don't to hear him complain the he can't win in the ugly black car.

I'll meet ya for coffee 8:30 in NJ again on Saturday. My turn to buy.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. Good luck to you on Saturday.

Hey Ryan, do you want me to write you an excuse? It's alright, dude. There's one more event this year and then we'll have to wait until '06.

Jim... okay dokey on Saturday. Oh yeah... you should take the lead this time so I know how fast you want to go.

Hey... if Jim isn't talking about last Saturday, then I am not going to either!!! At least he made it through one elim round.

Hey, I run high 14's Miss #SS45. Your starting to sound like Blue Monte with the attitude. Way to go girley-girl. Your going to be one of the "Atco Killers" next season. I was going to do the index12 again but the teal car is still wearing SS49 and decals from Delmar. I've been playing with the "new" firebird. I'm gona run the black car this weekend to get a good baseline on the car. E-town Saturday, Atco on Sunday. Ian want to try bracket racing next season. Ask Rick if he wants another student besides me.

Re: Englishtown... Nov 12th

Hey now! Mr Ron is all about changing my post around. Thank you for the luck though. I'm only running test and tune but I can taste the high 9 second pass. The carb I ran the car with before is 2/10's slower than the carb I'm putting on it for Saturday... and the air will be better too. So that 10.13 pass should be a low 9.90's pass. Can't wait!!!

I don't know about kicking butt next year Jim. I'm not even sure I'm going to run Atco points. 21 Saturdays is a HUGE committment. There are 12 Sunday's at E-town and the competition is rough there too but no Dave Harvey!! I haven't made the final decision yet. I did decide to run in Heavy and I'm probably going to spend the $300 on Bud's school. It's hard when my dad tells me one thing and Rick tells me another. If I take Bud's school, I won't listen to either one of them!!

You can still bring the teal car for the index. Mine has the SS sticker on it still but I'm making Rick take it off before Saturday. Why not take one more stab at the 12.0 index??? Tell me about this "new" firebird. I didn't know you got another one. I'm sure Rick won't mind sharing some pointers with Ian. He'll probably do much better on 4 wheels than he did on 2.

Re: Englishtown... Nov 12th

Jackie, got another 95 formula off ebay. fair condition. black/light gray cloth, lt1, auto, 2.73 posi, no t-top. 89k miles. does have a 6 cd changer and a trailer hitch. Got the car 3 weekends ago almost around the corner from your house. About 20 minutes down rt13 into philley. got it from a wholesaler. I haven't run the teal car since delmar and still have all the stickers on it. I may take it out the this following Saturday to either Cecil or RP to play with the trans brake. I be enrolling in Bud's school this winter too. I don't know what I'm doing next season. I haven't decided what track or even what class. I thinking of running a split season in heavy or super. The points thing does take a lot of committment. Even when there's a week "free" you have to run somewhere just to stay hot. Then the weekly T&T's to fix problems. Don't spent time worring about Dave Harvey. He's just like the rest of the Atco killers, you come up to the line with your A game on and do you best. Girley girl, Rick is putting you into a great car and you can cut great lights. The rest will come with seat time.

Sorry Ron for hijacking you post.

Thanks, it's the least I can do to keep the board active. Like, who wants to read about a "show car" that spends more time on the track than showing?

Re: Englishtown... Nov 12th

Hey Brian...
hard to say exactly. Yesterday was a rather screwed up day at the track. It seemed like every cycle through the lanes some one blew up at the line, half way down the track or at the finish. It was becoming two hours between runs, different track conditions... ugh!

Time trials,
R/T of a sleeping .277, slow .114 and much better .051
60' of 1.993, 2.041 and 1.966
ET 13.439, 13.591 and a 13.416
MPH 102.42, 101.74 and 95.06

See, nobody realized that we were given a third time trial as usually we only have two in Marathon. So on my third run I thought it was a race for a win and hit the brakes before the finish to make sure I didn't break out, which I was doing anyway. That would have been a 13.39 something run. Like I said, it was massive confusion at the track.

I only did two runs in the Marathon since the second one was at 6:10 and I was getting annoyed waiting up to two hours for a run.

R/Ts were a slow .103 and .118
60' 2.077 and 2.073
I let up on both runs as I was well ahead of the other car and wanted to makes sure that I didn't break out.

So I was two for two in the Marathon run... which was cool, but I left.

Hey Jim, how did you do?
