I will be there, probably not racing though. I will wait till late September or October before I do, not in this 90+ degree heat.

I could careless about the heat... in bracket racing 90* heat means nothing . I might go Tim, but thats still up in the air. If I do go I seriously doubt I'll race because I have no tires!

Id go with my new CC305 ( being installed RIGHT now) But im scared to go to the track... see my parents dont allow me, so i haveto lie to them about it, and well, last time i went to atco, i came home 8 hours late ( 2 in the morning) Because i got a flat tire, blew my alt/battery and locked my keys in the car, all on the same night. None the less, my parents got SO intensely mad at me.... so yeah, im scared to go. I might go to island dragway this friday night thought just for a couple quick runs and thats it. Anyone care to join me? PLease please please?

Step 1 - Said i was at the beach
Step 2 - Said i would be home at 6 (sunday, school the next day)
Step 3 - Stuck in staging lanes, they wouldnt let the street cars go, didnt move till 5 o clock
Step 4 - Finally, leave atco (2 hours away from me) at 6
Step 5 - Call home " Mom, im gonna be late, there is traffic"
Step 6 - Flat tire
Step 7 - No jack, left it at home
Step 8 - Flag down someone on some hick road in the middle of nowhere for a jack
Step 9 - 8 o clock, time for the long highway drive with the spare
Step 10 - Car dies on side of road
Step 11 - Lock keys in car
Step 12 - Call parents sobbing and get yelled at, then call AAA to have them drop car off at random chevy dealership
Step 13 - Get driven home at 11 by a friend who went with me, then get screamed at my parents for another hour.

Yeah, if it were only as easy as 5 steps Damn parents, why cant one of you camaro freaks be my dad

Take your parents with you! **** my dad encouraged it and he hasnt raced in 25 years. My mom was very anti-racing, but the enviromnet is so controlled at the track there's no reason to be scared at all.

i think pretty much everyones civil war ended in teh first round. they re-groomed the track between time trials and eliminations and a ton of guys went waaayyyy under their dial ins. the 2 guys i was helping one went .21 quicker than any time shot and th eother went .18 quicker.
the only one who didn't fall victim was 12secv6. in his eternal quest to be different he spun the tires in eliminations. amzing the V6 could do that after all teh V8's stopped spinning.

i have been drag racing, autocrossing , and hitting open track days since i got my drivers license 11years ago. my parents have NEVER seen me race.
my dad has been to a few nhra shows with me and my mom has been to one. i am trying to get my mother to take her car down the drag strip to get over her nervs about my bro and i racing. she likes racing, just nervous for us, guess that is jus tone of the things that makes her a good mom she knows all my friends and their cars adn she has watched me spend endless nights working on my junkers, so she knows we are serious and that we do thigns safe. we have both been to several driver training classes too, which prolly eases her mind a bit.
as long as you let your rents see that you are not doing anythign stupid or dangerous they will be ok with it, i can't promise they will ever be amped about it, but they will accept it a little better.
the best fact to whip out is that you are about 97 times more likely to get seriously injured driving to work than in any form of automobile racing.
