D42 Sunday the 6th

I am going to be there because the weather is just plain cold. High of 43 tomorrow and partly cloudy. I am going to try to play around with getting some good times. I will also try out the ET streets tomorrow. It would be cool to see some other guys up there. Waswa, I want to see what your car runs.

Gates open at 10. Racing at 10:30. Elims at 3. $10 admission.

I'm hoping that the cold weather and ET streets will net some better times. Should be interesting.

I'm hoping for a 13.4 slip tomorrow. I will be heating them good dont worry.

Directions are very easy. You can find them on their website www.dragway42.com

If you are coming from the North take 71 south, exit West Salem, take a right, take a right when it dead ends, take a right at the light and then you will see the track on your left and there will be signs.

Unfortunately I saw this post too late. I don't think I would have been able to make it out anyway. I'll be there on Friday, maybe even Wednesday if the weather is good. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Well just got back. The track prep was absolute crap and I also do not yet know how to use ET streets. I do have a new best ET and MPH though. I was consistently over 103 mph which I have never done before but traction was so crappy. I was spinning the ET streets for 2.4 60' most the time. Most my ETs were 13.6 or 13.7. No one was there and you didnt have to wait at all in any kind of line. I made around 12 runs.

13.577 @ 103.25 w/ 2.074 60' best ET still slipping.

13.958 @ 103.69 w/ 2.448 60' best MPH

I tried the regular tires for 2 runs and I was pulling 2.7s with those. I figure a little warmer day and me learning how to use these and the car should be good for a 13.4

My 60 ft times were all .4-.5 off. My best run with the Camaro was a 14.3. I ran 6 times with my '95 MC Z34, all 15.5's with the same traction problems.

Alright! Too bad it was too cold. For every tenth of your 60ft you gain 2 tenths in ET. With a warmer track you should see 13.3-13.4s. If I showed up I doubt I would have even run a 12.99 because theres a thin line between traction and slippage with drag radials and 400+rwhp and a cold track won't help.

Well hopefully the weather will be fine next Friday. Will Jeff have completed his hotcam install by then?

We should have the cam done by then. The cam is in now, timing cover on and so is the intake and everyting. All that needs done essentially is the hub, radiator, and to adjust the rockers.

Ya, hopefully a warmer track will result in some even better ETs.

I met 2 cool kids today. One had a Procharged 02 GT and the other a 99 SS. GT was trapping 115 and the SS 110. Usually low 13 slips.

Those 2 guys were at the dyno shop on Wednesday when I was there. The White GT made around 405rwhp
