Chilis car show in youngstown
Re: Chilis car show in youngstown
also bout 5months ago i bought a red carbon fiber rear bowtie emblem from rksport. it has sat in the package ever since. so you want it? i don't want any emblems on the back.
Re: Chilis car show in youngstown
It was a C5 Vette, not sure the year but it had thin spokes. Its listed as 1994 Z/28 vs C5 Corvette. I'll have to see the bowtie thing. Yea, I heard about some kind of heavy racing in the area, wasnt sure where but it was said to be near Y-Town. I hope to have a cam soon, althought spray calls my name on a daily basis.

I have many stories, one with a C4 Vette on 224, they are all wins, cept a Mach 1 running 12's.

Re: Chilis car show in youngstown
it sucks how much a small block comes to life with a cam, thats the only reason Aaron blew my hp rating away by 50hp. i kinda wish i put one in. but i spent enough money with head work, and blower and all the stuff needed upgraded for the blower. plus i never took a motor apart and taught myself how to adjust valves and remove the heads and intake. still don;t trust myself good enough with valves if i would ever do them again for some reason i would have someone double check me. okay i will look for that post. i would stay away from spray... i could see it killing a motor before boost would.
Re: Chilis car show in youngstown
I probably wont do spray since its not really the motor I worry about as much as my tranny. I am expecting 350-360rwhp with the cam alone. (Bret Bauer) I will later do some high flow LE heads and perhaps port matched intake.

Re: Chilis car show in youngstown
Us northern county ls1/lt1 guys gotta meet up with ya'll if the weather ever gets nice again before winter, there are a handful of us that would meet up with you guys one of these weekends, lets try to arrange something!!! This will be the first year in awhile we haven't made the ride down your way, just never got around to it, we are a traveling group, no limits to how far we will drive in the ohio area, lets see what we can do to meet up, TTYL
Re: Chilis car show in youngstown
i'm also a member of the NEOCC. but haven't brought my car to the past couple meeting cause i was working on it, plus me and my buddies get bored... after we are done looking at the cars. no offense Bob. yes we need to find a saturday that the weather is nice and dustin and me and u and your buddies could meet us at chilis.
Re: Chilis car show in youngstown
Well have to work out something. I am always up for BSing with F-body guys. Last time I did one, someone hosted a BBQ and hung out for the afternoon before terrorizing the area. I'd host if no one had a problem driving down to Salem, but the sounds of it, everyone is north of me.
Yea, I thought it was pretty cool finding out who they were, I was wanting to know. I have been downshifting and driving in whatever freaking gear I want for 2 years, 50,000 miles with no problem. Although with the power you put down, if it did cause some damage even slightly, your power level might magnify it. Overall I think youll be ok.

Re: Chilis car show in youngstown
yeah that would be cool to have a cookout to, but thats pushing it with our weather. nice weather is long gone from here on... to bad my car wasn't finished this summer a group of us could have been hanging out at chilis all summer long.
Re: Chilis car show in youngstown
i don't see what it would hurt driving in third gear around town.. as long as i stay out of the redline when messing around it shouldn't hurt anything.. plus when i get the transgo kit installed next spring that will help keep the tranny alive. my transcooler keeps the heat down.
Re: Chilis car show in youngstown
I see no problem with 3rd gear, or second or first. I ride in any without problems. Thats what I do when I go from a roll anyhow.
Weather might not permit, but I'll volunteer hosting. Big basement, TV, surround sound, natural gas grill and mad grill skill
Out in the country where no cop dare roam

Re: Chilis car show in youngstown
haha your funny. sounds like a plan to me,weather is the only issue though. my car doesn't see rain and it would melt if it got rained on. haha... we can always help and bring supplies too.. wat would you cook- burgers and stuff? my house is a ranch my first house and is small for alot of people to chill here. i live alone so two bedrooms is all i needed. like more then 10 people would be crowded. anyhow we need to figure something out.....
hey did you replace your door speakers? ever since i installed a pioneer cd deck in my car the bose speakers don't like the volume turned up to high they break up. since they are amped and being amped by the deck. maybe next spring or this winter if i have money to spare.not... i will look for something decent but not expensive to put in my doors. any recomends?

Re: Chilis car show in youngstown
Talking about my car behind my back, sheesh
What I meant in the other post is that I still have to buy a tranny mount, torque arm, panhard bar ect. All I have right now is my swaybar and stuff.
I actually live down the street from RamTuff. I go there all the time to get work done on my car/my dads car. There's a 95 Mustang GT for sale out front of RamTuff right now, I think it's $4k. But who'd want a Mustang?
Oh, the Youngstown Streets is a local message board. www.youngstownstreets.com . A bunch of local car owners are on it and some Hollywood Knights are on it.
Salem isn't that far from me, like a 20min drive depending on which way I go. I'd probably get lost driving around there though, lol.
I won't be able to do much this year since I'm currently in school [ysu]. I'd be able to do more stuff next year when spring comes around.
If I have any spare cash laying around next year, I might buy some Pioneer speakers. I get all my audio stuff from Cartronics on Market St. in Boardman. Great service with good prices.

Re: Chilis car show in youngstown
Yes we are talking about it behind your back!
Yes I did replace the audio system. Rockford Fosgate 6.5 Components up front with custom mount tweeters, RF 10" Stage 2 sub, 1 Farad capacitator, RF 4004 1200watt AMP, and Pioneer 7700MP. I used to work at Best Buy for about a year, so I got the stuff cheap. I'd be happy to help recommend or help install them. I actually found alot of easy ways to do things putting mine in. RF is some good stuff. I hid my AMP in the spare tire spot.
I have heard of Youngstownstreets. I no longer go there. I was told about the site by the maker when it first started and I went there a few times and the Administrator/Owner acted way out of line more than once, so unforntunately I wont touch that site.
95 GT = Terd
Naw, they are ok cars just real hard work for even 13's.
About the suspension parts, I'd do a sway, tranny mount if it needs it, TQ Arm when you kit low 12's or 11's, PHB if you lower or get huge tires. I'd invest in some power mods, but thats just my opinion. Your not going to get your money's worth with TQ Arm unless you making bigger power.
PM me your numbers please.
