Black out Headlight Cover, legal in NJ?
Black out Headlight Cover, legal in NJ?
Is it illegal to have black-outs on my headlights? If so can i use them and when I have to use my headlights Can i just take them off and not ge a ticket when they are on during the day?
Re: Black out Headlight Cover, legal in NJ?
yes they are illegal in NJ. Depending on what area your in you may or may not have problems. Where i live I was pulled over several times for them and I did get tickets for them on several occasions. After spending nearly $200 in tickets for them I just decided it wasnt worth it and took them off.

I painted my front blackouts pewter. I don't put them in to often because they were starting to scratch the headlight but I have driven by plenty of cops here in NY and they haven't bothered me a bit. I don't know about NJ though.
