zz4 crank with 6 inch rod

Will it work? I know some cranks say must use "xx" rod, and others dont. Just need to know if it will alow the use of the longer rod.

Whats so good about a zz4 crank vs aftermarket? Is it better or you just got one laying round?

Not 100% sure but I think you need to use 5.7" rods with the ZZ4 crank.

The thing you gotta remember when setting up a rotating assembly is you gotta do the math. Im not sure what the stroke on the crank is.

In order to calculate how long a rod you can run you take the deck height of 9.025 (The height from the center of the crank to where the heads rest) minus half the stroke and minus the compression height of the pistons. That will give you an exact figure on what kinda rods you can run.

9.025-3.48/2-1.25=6.035 (so 6" should work with 1.25 CH pistons)

To calculate compression, it just takes a little more math.
