Zero lash? Help please.
Zero lash? Help please.
I took off my drivers side valve cover because there has been some ticking coming from inside the valve cover. It's consistent when I rev it up to about 1600 rpm and anything above that it disapears. A few of the push rods I can twist by hand and a few I can't. All of them need to not be able to twist or move right? These are stock pushrods and rocker arms. Thanks.
Re: Zero lash? Help please.
Did you actually turn the motor over, stopping at testing each rocker arm when the corresponding lifter was at the base circle on the cam?? I would assume you did, as this would be the correct way, but you never know!
I would say that if you are running a stock valvetrain, there should be enough preload on the rockers that it is at least difficult to turn each pushrod by hand.
