z28 w/ M6 not starting

My Z is not starting and not even trying to turn over. Drove it home last thursday and Friday morning it wouldn't start. Turn the key and security light comes on like normal then goes off. I jumpered out security chip on key about a year ago with resistor so I don't think thats the issue because security light doesn't stay on for 3 minutes like security is blocking the starting. I jumpered out the clutch switch by pulling off wire connector and jumping with a paperclip. Still nothing. The battery seems like it has enough power because the headlights are bright. Voltage is at 12volts. I did try to jump it with another car and still get nothing when turning the key. I replaced the starter less then a year ago around last April. Could it be possible that the starter went bad already. It is from Advance auto parts. I live in Cleveland and it is too cold outside (even parked in a garage) to be pulling stuff of the car just to try testing. My car is a 94 Z28 with 6 speed and over 150,000 miles on it.
Anybody have any Ideas?
Thanks
Jeff

when you got the clutch pushed down and the key turned trying to start, do you get a click at all ?

if your not hearing the solenoid click then i'm willing to bet that either.. The noid went out on the starter.. Or most likely the safetly switch on the clutch pedal took a dump.. go under there and pull the plug.. take a paper clip and jumper it across the connecter.. then start the car.. if it start's either replace the switch or leave the clip in there.. If that don't fix it.. try tapping the starter lightly w/ a hammer.. that works somtimes to get that last umph out the noid...

I'd see if you can get someone to try and start the car while you tap the starter with a hammer, in the cold cold weather they like to stick when they are on the way out.. Mine did last yeah in the cold and I had to tap it with a hammer a few times before it finally started.. I replaced it shorty after... Let us know what happens

Could the starter go bad that quick? It isn't even a year old yet. It is from Advance autoparts. Any know how long the warranty is on a starter?

There is a gray relay by the glove box that you could try bypassing as well. I did this on my buddies car and it solved a very similar problem. You just have to pull out the glove box and it's on the right side attached on the back side of the metal.

i had this problem...you can try one of two things...get some of your friends to help you push start the car or you can check the connection on the back of your starter. my cables came loose one time on my 93 and it did the exact same thing.

Came home from work last night already to pull the starter out. Jumped in the car without doing anything to it and it started right up. Started it 10 times in a row after that. The bad part is that I don't know what the problem was. It started again this morning but I was afraid to drive it to work in fear that it would start at the end of the day and I would be stranded. The only difference was the temperature outside went from the teens to the 30's.
Any ideas?
