Z28 Maintainance

Hey guys, i just got a 93z28 and I wanna keep it running and performing nicely. What do you recommend for maintainance, oil, transmission fluid, gas, stuff like that. Input would really help me out. Thanks.

any shop should have the cd rom of the scheduled maintenence for your vehicle (it should also be listed in your owners manual)... oil, i recommend 5w-30 mobil1 synthetic... and 10w-30 in the summer... mobil 1 synthetic... best oil ever but don't switch back to regular after going synthetic... thats bad... gas your car needs 91 octane or better... don't put in less, i recommend 93 for performance and 94 if available in your area... tranny fluid go with any well known brand.. and greased lightning tranny treatment wouldn't hurt either... REDLINE makes the best oil in the biz.. for differential oil... that should be it...

If the car has been using 87 octane gas and "not-so-good" oil will changing to these help or is it too late?

www.auto-rx.com This is the best engine cleaner out there. As for running 87 octane, if that was the case your cat is probably a bit clogged if it was running regular for a while. Guess it's time to hollow it out. . Other stuff such as tranny and coolant can be flushed and everything will be fine granted the tranny shifts crisply and the cooling system isn't too dirty.
