Z06 MAF on a LT1 ?s
Re: Z06 MAF on a LT1 ?s
unless you get a PCM tune the ZO6 MAF is a BAAAAADDDD idea. Sort of a bad idea even with a tune unless you have big mods on the engine and from what i know the sizes of the in and outlets are 4 inch instead of 3 1/2.
No to burst your bubble but you may cause more issues than not. If you do a search this topic was talked about recently by one of the PCM tuners on this board.
Moral of the story: Yes it can be done but you need to throw some money at it in the form of a tune and new plumbing adapters.

There's some useable information here, that can also answer your original question...

Re: Z06 MAF on a LT1 ?s
Your stock MAF can comunicate with the pcm to a higher airflow. The ZO6 sensor can read a lot of flow but the stock pcm can not understand it past about 350rwhp I believe and your stocker is good far beyond that. I am among the wasted money on this sensor and regretted it crowd, I had proffessional tuning help and several fellow enthusiasts sending me MAF tables and I never could get it to run right, always wanted to be rich BLMs around 113-115, milage was down and topend was compromised, and that is compared to my tiny 3" b-body MAF and I do have some mods including a ZZ3 cam.
