The Z wont start!
Ok Friday night the car ran great. Parked it. Saturady morning wouldnt start. It rained Friday night but Im stumped cause 2 days later it still wont start. It acts like the battery is dead but its not (showing about 10 on the gauge) even tried to jump it didnt work. Checked the starter connections and battery connections, looked ok. Any help would be great, if any more info is needed just lemme know. This is my daily driver so I need it running.

Its not doing anything, ie clicking, dimming lights nothing. Ive checked everything I know to check, clutch sensor, connections, battery checked and fuses. And the starter has about 750 miles.

Re: The Z wont start!
Is it a remanufactured starter? ( autozone, dicount auto, etc. ) I had one of those go out three weeks after I puchase and installed it. They'll box up and sell you any old piece of crap. I went through two before I got wise and just bought a new Acdelco one. It's a little pricey, but well worth it. Good luck.
Re: The Z wont start!
Roll the car to an open road or parking lot. Put it in 1st gear, get in and hold the clutch in. Turn the all the way forward to "ON". Have some friends push you then slam the clutch out. This should start it. Try it once or twice. If it does start It could be your Neutral safety switch. If it doesnt you've got bigger problems. Check all your Relays and fuses.
Re: The Z wont start!
Ok I really dont have the man power to help me push it. But I checked all the fuses and theyre fine but as far as relays I dont have the slightest. Where would they be? And the Neutral safety switch is the one on the clutch pedal right?
Re: The Z wont start!
Yes the one on the clutch pedal. Sorry i just saw that you already checked that in your post. Seriously though, just get like 1 or 2 people to push the car. It could just be stuck. I had it happen on my 95 mustang. It happened at a gas station in the rain. Turned the car off filled it up wiht gas, nothing happened. The lights on the dash did come on, but no starter clicking or turning. Completely dead just like leaving the headlights on. A few guys helped me push it, i slammed the clutch out and it started right up. Didnt have any more problems for a few weeks. Try it. This will help narrow your problems down.

Re: The Z wont start!
If the car does start, you know it's something related to the starter. If it cranks over you know it's something electrical. If the wheels are just locked up and skid across the road you know you are in trouble. Might as well try, what the worst that could happen?

Right NO clicking and yes all the bells and whistles come on, Fans(wired always on), all of the gauge lights come on but the SES and check guages stays on and the rest go off. Feul pump kicks on and everything. Its just that the starter is not enguaging. Im getting a test light tommorow to see if the starter is actually getting power from the ignition wire. If there is anything else yall can think of please let me know.

Re: The Z wont start!
I think that would be ignition switch then. Although i can't remember when mine went out if the fuel pump engaged. I would do a search on ignition switches and see if they mention the fuel pump still works. I would lean towards the ignition switch.
