Your thoughts on this SR cam?

686/688
255/262
LSA 110*
108* centerline

This is in a 383 with AI 200cc heads. M6 transmission.

Where do you think the powerband ends with this cam? Does anyone else here have a cam this big in an occassional street vehicle (weekend car)?

Car's not fully tuned now, but driveability is surprisingly good (aside from the stench).

What intake? With good flowing single plane it would rock. I'd say peak around 68-7000 with a single plane, and a few hundred less with a stock intake. You'd want an aftermarket pcm or an LSx conversion.

The intake will be big for this cam. those heads are good, but some 220 AFR's would be much better.

what compression ratio?

Re: Your thoughts on this SR cam?

I'm using a ported stock intake (ported by Lloyd Elliot).

CR is ~ 11.28:1 (pump gas).

Maybe choking it down a bit with the top end I have.

Right now, it runs on an Ed Wright programmed PCM, but the programming is for a less aggressive setup. I am going to have Moe Bailey tune this on the dyno in the coming months. Then I'll know what I've got. Moe thinks he can get a handle on this using the stock PCM.

Moe is a very good tuner. I still owe him some beers. Tell him joelster says hi!
