Thumbs up Your input on running the 1/4

I have never ran the 1/4 before..i am going tonight if everything goes as planned..
can u guys give me some tips on how to launch..
my tires are not that bad but its hard to hook...28K on the tires (pic below)
what psi should i run in the rear tires
should i leave it in 3rd (D) or will i be bouncing off the limiter...my limiter is raised to 6K and i have 3:23's
or should i just leave it in 4rth (OD)
how to launch?
below is a pic of my tread
all input is greatly appreciated

I've got a 3.23 geared automatic, and I simply leave the line off idle and then mash the pedal right to the floor. If the track is hooking well I'll get little to no spin. I run 30psi all around, and usually like to show up with about a 1/2 tank of gas. I'd suggest showing up on a full tank though just in case traction isn't that great, then it gives you more weight on the rear tires for better launching. I leave my trans selector in drive (4th gear)

I also recommend letting the car cool down a long time in order to run your best ET. If you feel your upper intake and it's hot, then you will not run your best ET. I have found my car runs at least two tenths quicker when the intake is cool to the touch compared to when it's hot.

I say u drop some tire pressure to around 20-25 on a street tire and just lay into the throttle, with an automatic you should have no problem hooking with a stock car if the track is anywhere near decent
