first take a volt meter and check the resistance in the chip in you key. go to radio shack and buy the resistors you need to make the same resistance under the dash there are 2 yellow or orange wire side by side. don't cut them take a razor so that you can expose wire to put the resistor you built in from one wire to the other and you bypassed pass key also works on corvettes. but before you do all that theres a recall on the ignition switch through gm call your local dealer and see if it has already been done if not they will fix your problem for free.
