Yet another CAM Question
Yet another CAM Question
Sorry but I have some questions about cams. Here is what I have. Newly built 355 with forged pistons, eagle rods, MAC Midlength headers, ported heads, ported intake. What I am looking for is the most horsepower that I can get out of a daily driver. I don't mind the lope but I don't want to sacrifice my driveability. I was thinking about the CC305 but I have heard that is old technology. I have seen post about XE cams but I don't know that means. Please help me to decide what I need. Like I said, I want the most power I can. I really need to beat a buddies LS1.
Re: Yet another CAM Question
What kind of mods does the LS1 have?
I have the XE227/233 on a 114lsa with 1.6rr. I like this cam a lot... stock heads and exhaust manifolds and dynoed 302rwhp/304lbs of tq on a 112lsa tune and only revving to 5450... I only get surge from 1000-1300 rpms in gears 1-4... ABSOLUTELY none in 5th and 6th at all no matter what rpm. Cars pulls like madd if you nail it at 3 1/2k... I can't wait for my lt's to go in. Dave from Combination Motorsports said 350rwhp/350lbs of torque is easily attainable no a good tune. So i'm planning on mid 12's all day

Re: Yet another CAM Question
I love my XE 224/230. Nice lope, great broad powerband. XE is a Competition Cams line of "Extreme Energy," or high ramp-rate cams that work really great on the street. They are relatively short duration cams that make alot of power because of the more effective duration due to high ramp rates. Mine even passed emissions.
