Thanks for insulting all 93-95 owners.

Looks like that just narrowed your search for you.

I like both interiors, but I like the '97 better. I like the amber in the taillights too. The 93-95 is cool because it's interior feels very sleek, but the '97 is laid out a little better and has a fresher look.

In general, the '97's will have less wear and tear.

Pretty much all the bugs have been worked out by the time the '97's came around. They all have the nice 30th anniversary embossing on the seats.

It's easy to do a OBDI conversion if you want, or just have the OBD II PCM reprogrammed for you needs.

Sounds reasonable... i paid 8k for mine 2 years ago with 63k on the clock. It was bone stock. I got it from a dealership, so i probably could've gotten an even better deal if i bought it from the previous owner.

Before getting mine i actually considered the 97 first primarily due to the CPS. Seems like if you plan to get an aftermarket computer later on then you would already have a CPS there ready for use. I guess it wouldn't be too hard to install a 97 timing cover on a earlier model if you wanted to though.

BTW, i actually prefer the interior of the pre-97s. More compact and sporty to me. I just like the 97-up gauges better. i wish i could put them in mine without chopping the thing up too bad. Oh well

95's are best, but I am biased.
OBD I - no conversion needed, vented opti, hardened pushrods......It was the golden year for LT1s.

I have a 93, but it doesnt really matter. All the years are still LT1s, what ever 93-97 you think your getting the best deal on is what I would go with. 93s had the hardened push rods, vented optis doesnt make a lick of difference, they go out just the same as non vented. You can convert to a vented fairly cheap, you can get a lot of the parts right off this board. The 93s a re a bit of a pita to tune because they are chip cars but you can always convert to accel dfi if you really get in to it.

i personally would perfer the 95(which i already have), but anything above 94 ain't bad

don't have to put up with obd1 conversion when u can buy a obd1 camaro w/vented opti.

only downside to the 95, but upside in someways is the single cat compared to dual cats in the 96 +97's

What really made the decision for me getting the 97 was the interior styling.. it is much more appealing if you ask me. Plus, 97 was the last yr for the LT1 so any parts that didnt quite work in the early years was either redesigned or dropped(ie. oil coolers).

I like my '93 a lot and have had several compliments on the interior, but if you are looking for something with less than 75k miles, It will be tough to find a '93 with that low of miles, and if you do find one with under 75k original miles on the clock it has most likely been taken care of and barely driven.

94-95...

my 94 is perfect for me... with the exception of the opti (which hasnt plagued me yet), my car has responded well to all of my modifications, including the elimination of all my emmisions crap. ive never thrown a code...

its a great car... the only problem is that im the 6th owner

odds are that is been driven pretty hard, but at the same time odds are that the opti has been replaced already... and i think i have a higher stall than stock.... because i can stall my car up to 2000-2150 rpms. is that normal? cause i dont think it is

oh yeah and the 94's also had hardened pushrods
