I thought 93-95 had the pink rods? But I could be mistaken.

The pink rods where replaced by the powdered metal rods in mid 94.

My B4C was built in november of 93 so im guessing its got Pinks. So which is better Pinks with if im not mistaken are just shot peened stock forged rods, or Powderd Metal rods? Im getting ready to go threw my 95 LT1 and im just wandering if i would be better off yanking the 94 LT1 out of my B4C. Thanks alot.

The reason the are called "PINK" rods are because from the factory the were shot peened and stress relived and then had a pink paint dot put on them to tell them from other rods. Thats why there were called "PINK" rods. Hope that helped.

From the "Rebuilding the LT1" article....
RODS
350 - The original LT1 came with regular forged 350 rods, that were shot peened for localized hardness under the head of the bolt and nut. Powdered metal rods were phased in for the Corvette around 1994 and used in all of the LT1 engines by 1995. GM made the change because the powdered metal rods were cheaper to make and were much stronger than the GM high performance "pink" rods. In fact, they are supposed to be good for up to 450 hp. They are machined at the parting line so they can be reconditioned.
The two cases I have seen of PM rod failure were both at about the 600HP level.

The newer rods are much better than the 92-93 rods. take a look at the early LT1 rods, they were pink only in name, I have a set of pink rods , which are basicly a regular set that are magged and bead blasted, and they are much meatier than my 93s stock rods were, heck the rods out of my 79 350 block were beefier than the 93s , the shafts were NOTICEABLY thinner ,I mean like a good 1/8 th an inch!!!!

if the "pink" rods were so much weaker than why did they use them in the first place, and why were they considered performance rods?

The 91-92 Firehawks also had pink rods. For stock use their fine, thats why GM used them.
