Yank 2600 for LS1, will it work for LT1.

Guys,

I have a chance to get a Yank 2800 Torque Converter from a buddy of mine but he had it installed on his '02 Z28. I would like to get it if it fits my 1995 Z28.

Will this work out for me or what are the differences that are going to keep me from doing this?

Thanks!

If both automatic transmissions are 4L60E, then are the input shafts longer, shorter, more splines or what?

LS1 input shaft is longer for sure, the bolt pattern to the flexplate might be different as well, no real reason to check

i went through this when i built my car up. i had a converter from a friend that had an ls1 and it wouldnt work for me. the splines are the same as are the input shaft length but because the bell housings on the ls1 cars is a bit longer the torque converter is taller.

so in summary you CAN'T use a LS1 torque converter in an LT1 Car.

Ok I have personnal experience with this, it will not work at all, the LS1 input shaft on the 4L60 E is completely different, it doesnt even seal to the converter the same.

I recently put a 00 4L60E behind an LT1 in a 91 S-10, the tranny will bolt to the LT1 and you can use the LS1 converter with it and its practicly a bolt together, but the converter from the LS1 must come along.
