yall opinions on oil pump/clearences

i put my motor together and everything was within speck a little tight like i like it...but i didnt know until everything was together that i was given a high volume pump...at cold start its at 70 psi...warm idle its at 30 and part throttle is about 55 and wot is near 70-80...im mostly wondering if this will shorten the lif of the motor since the oil pres is only 30 at idle warm? this is with straight 30 weight oil...
older guys have any opinions?

Only 30 at hot idle? That is about 2x what most LT1 owners get.

well the motor only has 8k miles on it...most lt1 users would learn they have alot more oil pressure if they simply put a new oil switch on their car....
this opne also fluctuates back and forth, i think it might jsut be a charactoristic of a hv pump im not sure...im going to keep an eye on it make sure she doesnt loosen up on me

Sounds like my oil prssure on my new motor. I dont have a highflow pump but I did install the GM white spring and seal up the adapter bypass solid.

There is no problem with your pressure and like show said many LT1 guys will be jealous. I wouldsuggest usig a beefy oil filter with that much pressure, like the K&N or the Moroso larger filters with big burst strength.

I run a mechanical oil pressure gauge on my car, 30psi at hot idle is pretty high. I'm running in the 20's at hot idle, same as it was with my stock shortblock.

My mechanical and factory gauge read identical.
