Y-pipe question

Put headers on over the weekend and took my 94 TA to the exhaust shop to get a Y-Pipe made and get it all connected he said that i'd have to relocate my fuel lines and brakeline under my door. Do I have to relocate, or just quit being a cheap *** and buy a y-pipe already made.If i do but one, will I still have to relocate?

What kind of headers are you running, long tubes?? As for the y-pipe, what kind of y-pipe are you having made, one with or without cats? I can see the exhaust shop saying that they may have to reroute the brake/fuel lines as they are in that general area. But depending on what headers you have, there is a good chance that there is a pre-made y-pipe that you can buy and you will not have to worry about a custom y-pipe or rerouting your lines.

Re: Y-pipe question

Will this work the best to go with the pacesetter long tubes?

will I still need to relocate my fuel lines?

Re: Y-pipe question

The link you gave directed me to your cart which had the Pacesetter long tubes in it. I am guessing you are wanting the y-pipe right? The y-pipe that will work for those headers is the Pacesetter ORY pipe and the Summit part number is: PSM-82-1161 and it runs 130 dollars. I used this y-pipe with my Pacesetter long tubes and it did not interfere with the brake or fuel lines. Plus, the y-pipe is only 130.00, I'm willing to bet you that is much cheaper then what the exhaust shop wants to make you a custom one.

Re: Y-pipe question

The y-pipe will run right next to the fuel and brake lines so you should either get some heat wrap to put around the fuel/brake lines or wrap that section of y-pipe to keep the heat away from the fuel lines. I did both, wrapped a section of the y-pipe and then put some heat wrap around the fuel lines.

Re: Y-pipe question

I was going to have a shop fab up a y pipe and they said it would be alot cheaper just to buy one.
