Which Y-Pipe to get? Help!

To start I do not want to do Headers. My car is a 96 Z28 LT-1 with an installed Hooker Cat-Back. I have many suspension mods since the car does only road course duties.

So which Y-Pipe should I get that will be a fairly easy bolt-on and what type of HP gain should I expect?

I am also thinking of installing Roller Rockers? Which ones and what type of gains can I expect from this mod?

Thanks

Is Random Technology the only one who makes a Y-Pipe with the High Flow cats for a 96 LT-1? Where is the Borla?

i know you don't want to do headers but when you start to take off your old ypipe and bust off at least half the studs you will end up doing headers anyways.

Yes, the studs can be jammed in there and busting them off is entirely possible. I managed to do the job without busting any of them off. I also got every stud out but one and replaced them with fresh bolts.

Not sure what kind of gains a set of roller rockers will give ya... like 5 hp or something?

I've got Comp 1.6 Pro Magnum's with ARP studs and poly locks... pretty nice setup... just make sure you adjust valve lash properly and tighten the lock screw down HARD... that advice will make sense to you once you're installing them. Search the site and google for some guides on that installation.

Hey thanks for the info. From searching the net over the last few years, the best I've seen is a 10-12 rwhp gain off of full roller rockers. Either way, I plan on dyno'ing to get the real #'s anyway.

Id think that quality R.R.'s would get you about 15RWHP, the Y pipe, between 5-10RWHP, that one is kinda dependant on how big your cat back is too ... And the fact that you dont have headers would kinda defeat the point of puttin $$$ into the exhaust ...

Save your money, get long tubes, and an offraod pipe , and a highflow cat ( If oyu need to pass the sniffer ) Intall it, and have a shop weld in the cat for you ...

Long tubes show ~ 20RWHP alot of ppl have seen more, but that seems to be more realistic on a typical high millage LT1 ...
