The XE 224/230 is sorta in the middle between the cc305 and the cc306, I would take the two and average them together. From what I hear, it will create a little less HP from the cc306 but absolutely KILLS the cc306 in torque. HP isnt everything.

yeah, thats what i was thinkin. high 12's possible do you think? somewhere in there i guess. yeah, very true, horsepower isnt everything, thats why im goin with this cam cause of its torque.

Ok I have the CC305 with stock heads. And my time's and dyno's are in the cig. I have seen better #'s with the 305 and hotcam than the 224/230 cam.

the XE 224/230 will outperform the cc305 if it goes with the right mods. Any cam will run bad in a stock head/header/spring/rocker/pcm car.

Not true at all, it's all in the tunning. There are so many other factors that could be at play with those setups but it boils down that the XE 224 will out perform the 305 if both setups were identical except for the cams.

Its important not to forget that average hp/tq are what makes for a fast car. I am fairly split between these two cams. the 305 has a much more friendly split as far as stock head flow numbers are concerned. but the slower ramps and less agressive closing points in the cam not to mention the lesser valve overlap seem to put it at a disadvantage in my mind. and so i would take the 224/230 over the 305 because it has faster ramps and is more suited in relation to DCR. it also has a very broad flat powerband with lots of low speed tq. it also has enough duration to give you a little room to grow if you get some head work done. if you get the most agressive lift version of it be sure and replace the lifters or they will . and i didnt see headers in your plans, you will most definaitly need headers to see everything be optimized.

Well I ain't trying to start a argument but when I was going to order my cam I wanted to get the XE 224 cam. I asked Nick at Nu-Tek which was better the 224 or the CC305. He said that he has seen the 305 out perform the 224 more that once on stock heads. This was my goal.
