XE 224/230 or 230/236

I'm building up my 350 SBC. I bought a set of LT1 heads tonight and will have them slightly ported. I'm getting an intake (LT1) this weekend and will be modifying/installing it all on my Gen 1 motor.

I'm undecided on cams. XE 224/230 or 230/236? I was leaning towards the 224. Other mods will be:

-1.6RR
-Headers
-CAI
-Proper Tune

What cam and with each, what numbers should I expect (rwhp)? Thanks.

No point in porting your intake to 58mm if thats what you were looking at doing...

If you're going for a 'mild' port with higher mid lift numbers, I'd say go with the 224/230...

Oh no, by modifying I meant making it compatible to a Gen 1 motor (rear mount distributor, etc).

Cool, that's what I was looking at.

Do I understand that you are putting LT1 heads on a regular SBC? Not sure I have heard anyone doing this. Correct me if I am wrong, but modification will be needed to make it work. You will also have to use an LT1 or LT4 specific intake manifold.

If I misunderstood, then nevermind.

So how do the heads stay cool without all the coolant passages working?
