Provide more description of what is on where, how you have it supported and what you are doing next. I don't quite understand what you are saying.

sorry....the new tranny mount...p/n 22201140 looks like it is too "thick". I sized up the cross brace that the bolt that is stickeing out of the bottom of the mount stickes through, which the nut goes onto, and it looks like the brace will be too far away from the underside of the car, where the 4 bolts that hold it to the underside of the car go through

That mount is a little taller. It is not a problem, though. I would put some support under the trans or under your crossmember (however you decide) and move it all up until the crossmember is up next to the underside of the car. If you pull it up with the bolts, you risk stripping the threads.

Couldn't have said it any better myself.

thanks shoebox...i jacked up the trans and got everythig to fit in fine...god were my fingers numb. I took the car out for a drive...woohoo...no rattles....for the first 5 minutes. now it rattles at idle, and throughout the RPM range...it used to only rattle when starting out, low in 1st gear. I got back under....tried to tighten the bolts as much as i possibly good...and it still rattles. Anyone have any ideas...maybe its not the tranny mount??

I checked all the exhaust piping before i determined it was a tranny mount the 1st time...i dont think its them...but it never hurts to double check. As for the rattling, it sounds like it is coming from behind the drivers seat, and sometimes i can feel it when my foot is of the clutch through the floor. Anyone else have any ideas?

Check the U-joints also, before long, you're gonna have a checklist of things to check.

that is an excellent idea...ill definately do this next time i am home...why didnt i think of that??
