My g/f currently owns an 02 Mustang GT vert and has been convinced by my car whoopin her BADLY that she needs an F-Body. Since she can get about 14-15k out of her car now...I told her she would be better off buying a super clean LT1 and build it up.

With LS1s I know one major concern was look for excessive piston slap. What things should I be looking for in an LT1? Are there any downsides to LT4 motors? (An older Vette might be in order as well). We plan on making a roadtrip away from the midwest to pick up a clean, rust free car...so want to know what questions to ask before we hit the road. Thanks!
