WS6 "smooth bellows" scam on eBay

I've found several people selling the Fernco sewer pipe connector on eBay. This is a $6 (including 2 S/S clamps) smooth rubber connector that replaces the stock WS6 corrugated bellows between the MAF and the TB.

Unfortunately, A couple of these people are using pictures of my engine, lifted from my website, to sell this part at ridiculous prices.

I got mine for less than $6 in Home Depot:

Fernco Connector

One guy is selling them for $10 minimum + $10 shipping(!!!!!), and people are paying up to $30 with shipping, and posting rave reviews of the product and ranting about the guys "pride" in his product.

I just want to be sure everyone understands....

It is NOT me selling that product.

The picture is being used without my permission, and I have asked that it be rremoved.

I do not know the people selling this item, and I do not endorse them.

I caught one other guy selling a TB bypass and using WS6.coms dyno printouts! It really is ridiculous what some of these scam artist will do for a few bucks. 99% of the stuff is free mods that are common knowledge here on the board.

Sorry to hear that Fred. Many of us have used the Fernco setup for the past couple of years for free(basically) because of your idea...it's those ideas that keep this website going strong!

Wonder how someone wouldve just came across pics of your motor FRED? Maybe it was someone from. If so, they would never admit it.

I hate to say this, but I recognized Injuneer's engine when I first started seeing this auction about a month ago, but at the time I couldn't remember whose it was, and it excaped my mind before I could make a post here. My bad.

Hopefully this guy will end these auctions. I'm all for making a couple of bucks, but what he's doing is preying on the unknowing. Just wrong.

Fred, you got ripped. I bought mine from Lowes w/ the clamps already on it for $4.

Now that I think about it, maybe I should start selling these. Hey, if someone is willing to pay that kinda money for them, it's money in my pocket.

I would bet money that the sellers are members of this and many other forums that we all frequent...

I don't really look for stuff on Ebay anymore, 'cause when I search "LT1" on there, you'll get 400 results, and 300 of them are "TB Bypass - 8 hp gain", or "F-body parts catalog", etc. well you get the point...

After reading this thread I went to Home Depot and got me the 3" Fernco connector for $4.97. Has anyone shown any actual dyno graphs w/results from this thing? I imagine I might pick up 1 rwhp or so, but still it looks cool and my original tube is lookin' shabby. And it *does* look ready-made for the t/a with the two clamps on it!

Thats a neat mod... Injuneer.. I didnt realized it was a sewer pipe. Duh me I thought it was custom made.

I get the feeling I will be going to hope depot looking for a replacement to my OEM Bellows.. I have seen guys with chromed metalic ones that I really like but I know the LT1 will be moving back and forth and I am afraid of braking something in there if I install a solid peace of metal..

Now it pisses me off when I hafta redesign a mod of my own three or four times and I still dont have it running like its suposed to and then I read here some guys just scammed peeps with free mods and make bookoo money from it. By the time I am done with my mod no will will trust to buy it.

that reminds me... now the Tornado people have their product on just about every autoparts here in Hawaii... why cant I design a real product and sell it for a profit?? grrrr the scammers make all the money with no effort...

Marvin
