hey guys right now i have a glasstek WS6 replica hood i bought from WS6 superstore for my 94 lt1 TA. Now im thinking about putting the stock air box for a ws6 on my car and cutting out the wholes in the nostrils to make it functional. Has ne one tried this set up?? Im scared of getting water sucked in and hydrolocking the car.

 

I am using the factory RA hood with baffles removed (screens in openings still there) and factory RA box, been like this since 1 day after I bought the car about 2000. I have driven in very heavy rain and had no problems whatsoever.

 

bought the car in 2004 removed baffles, you can see straight through the hood and into the filter. never had problems with water going in unless you literally spray water through the hood. drove in rain before no problem, just not when its really bad. my car only goes out when its nice and sunny anyways, and here in Texas it hardly rains so its not something i worry about.

 

Exactly as said above, I have no baffles in mine and have accidently gotten caught in some pretty bad rainstorms with no effects.

 

well im keeping my baffles on so i should be good(i live in flordia).lol

 

has ne one seen that kit from fast toys where the ram duct comes from under car and uses an ls1 lid??? Whats more risky int he rain to ur guys that or the stock ram air box for our cars?
