Exclamation WoW, a coil change more of an improvement than an optispark change!

Well for those of you that have been keeping up with post I changed out my optispark and it mae a great deal of change, I meant to do my coil at the same time but I got sent the wrong one. Now today I got the right one in, changed it and WOW, it is an even bigger difference than the optispark. Now I know why I am not hitting the times I had expected. I will be at the track tommorro and let you all know my times. My previous best was a 14.4 on street tires. Now I expect 13's and at least a couple mph higher. I am at 5000ft elevation and lt1 stock run mid 15's here. I also have ET STREETS NOW.

Did you get a gm coil or aftermarket? I ordered a gm but wondering if have to cut off the old coil from the module thing.
I was just going to get a new wire but figured might as well get a coil as well.
I am planning on delteq system but likely not till next year.Unless the opti gives me trouble between now and then.

I got a stock one from Jason Cromer for $30. If the ACDELCO one works good then why change it. I have heard positive and negative about aftermarket coils, so I opted to not take a change and go ACDELCO which is a for sure thing.

I didn't have to drill out the rivets, just knocked them with a chizel.

A new GM coil will come with new bolts. I used a Dremel to cut the rivets. I suppose a chisel works well too, it's pretty soft metal.

I've often heard that GM improved the coil in '96 and it's just as good as many aftermarket units.
