Re: Wow..wtf??

Check the throttle linkage and throttle body for hook ups, even the pedal. just inspected everything to make sure that every thing is operating feely.

And Paul HArvey's "Rest Of the Story" all this time, you realized your right foot was still mashing the pedal all the way...adrenaline had you going! LOL just kidding
Sure sounds like a sticky linkage. Definately work all parts of it and maybe enven spray some lube on them...even wipe the built up grease & dirt off them.

Re: Wow..?????

Check the butterfly valves on the throttle body. There may be some gunk build up on the blades that is causing them to stick open.

well, i have had the same thing happen to me....well pretty close to the same thing....i find it embarrassing to say this outloud. Check your floor mat...The reason mine was stuck was the floormat slid up and jammed the gas pedal to the floor.

Re: Wow..?????

If it ever happens again, just remember to turn the key to the off position instead of trying all of the other stuff.

Don't be embarrassed, it happened to me in a Buick Regal that I had at one time. Thats why most of the new cars come with hooks in the floormat to prevent this from happening.

had the same thing happen racing a wrx, i have different floor mats the ones that say z28 on them and they are a little bigger than factory, had to throw it in neutral and turn it of then realized it was the floormat, i felt like a retard. but yeah check that you would be suprised how easily it could happen and you wouldn't realize cuz of the adrenaline and stuff
