Thumbs up Wow, 3 Thumbs up for Goodyear F1 GS-D3's!!!!!

I had after plenty of research ended up going with the top of the line goodyears tires and they are AWSOME and that is an understatement. Check out my mod list, 3.73's and converter. Even with my mods the tires bearly chirp maybe once! These tires grip like glue and are a 10+ on the 1 to 10 scale. They have a tremendouslyl smooth ride as well. Anybody in need of good tires these are a MUST, I reccomend them to everybody that doesnt have drag radials or needs new tires. 310$ shipped to my door in 2 DAYS, for the two back tires I ordered.

Exclamation

I heard a rumor that Goodyear is discontinuing these tires
I just got mine a week ago and I love them to death. I wanted
to order some 315s because I want to go wider in the rear
soon, but Discount told me that they were going to be
discontinued. I hope they are full fo crap, because these
are great tires! They rate about the same as The G Force T/A
but a lot cheaper. I'm breaking in a clutch right now so I
can't tell yet just how much grip they have, but they ride great
and are very quiet. I hope someone can come up with a
different answer than I got.

I highly doubt Goodyear would discontinue these tires, considering they just brought them out. Look how long the Gatorback has been in production, and the GSC for that matter. So I'm sure these tires are here to stay. I love mine, I can launch at full throttle and unless the track is in bad shape, I get no wheelspin at all, even with 3.23s.

Whats the tread wear?
How long are they supposed to last?

I had a few friends with the regular F1s and they say the F1s sucked for traction, even from a roll. Are these D3 so much better than the regular F1s (traction wise)?

Thnks,
Claude

Yes, stock F1's suck, and yes, D3's rock. The only related thing between them is the name Goodyear and the F1 designator. The treadwear rating is pretty good.

If I remember right, the tread wear is 280. I absolutely love my GS-D3's. I got 3 other people at work to buy the same tire and they love them!!!!

I will definetly check them out at tirerack.com

Thx again,
Claude

I got mine at Tirerack. (p245 70ZR16) They were $142/tire + $40 S&H. I still saved like $70 or so. Have them delivered to a local tire installer (not to your house). Good luck!

Hopefully they'll actually wear good. Friend of mine in high school bought a set of Goodyears for his vette and they were top of the line they were showing major wear after 11k miles he never took it to the track and to my knowledge never did a burnout. But that was 4 years ago...perhaps they've improved...hope they have...

I got my GS D3s put on in early April of this year, and I've been driving about 350 to 400 miles a week on average since then, and the tread still looks like new to me, for sure it's at 75% or higher right now. So I think these tires will last quite a long time.

I heard from one guy that he has gotten 40,000 out of them and they wear awsome. He says he still have tread left, a sufficient amount.

How are they for the handling departement? I figure thats a great improvement over teh nittos I have if they last more than 10k miles and grip atleast near as well but have a stiffer sidewall, but maybe thats too good to be true....

They are as close to glue as you are going to get. They are also Y rated (186 MPH) so the side wall is pretty stiff.

Question

Hmm, this has me thinking. I'm about to order two new tires for the rears next week (315/35/17s). I currently have the BFG G-Force KDs, and these are the best road tires I've ever experienced. Do these Goodyears really compare the BFG KDs? If so, how close are they.

I can't afford multiple sets of tires, so these will be my road/AutoX/drag tires.
