Would a slightly burnt wire.......

affect your track times without actually noticing a miss or anything like that??? I found a wire burnt through the outer layer to where you could see the white insulation (I guess). It wasnt running any different. Taped it up.

Yeah, just did a cam install on a car and two wires got burnt somehow. Car felt like ****, but didnt feel like it was missing. Id imagine if you burnt just the right wire you could probly not even know it, but performance is obviously gonna be hurt.

I burnt my number 6 in a number of ways, and multiple times, sometimes it would feel like the car was surging at throttle ( power would kick in, and then be lost) and it gave it a sporratic Idle.
I would say that it would affect performace and should be replaced.

yes it would, if the wire is burnt and there is any metal around your going to loose spark. this can hurt times. did the wire burn again? and if your wires are being burnt b/c of the headers, reroute them. i had to

I used silicone once to fix one of my old crappy taylor wires where it got cut. I had a noticable misfire that went away completely so I say unless the wire is arching, you shouldnt have any problems.
